Hard to say if these justify the pricetag. I feel like maybe they went a bit high, but I guess I'll have to watch more videos...

For those of us who never purchased Omnisphere for whatever reason this "big news" is hardly worth getting excited over.

Oh well I'm out. It was fun speculating and anticipating what the big news was so there was some entertainment value for a few days at least.

FYI if you own Omnisphere 2 there is a 2.8 update released....I'm downloading now (in case there is a demo!) but there is no info on what in the update on the release notes...

Not quite. Each comes with custom effect modules that can be used in any patch. They have new custom controls, and there is a new multi-sampling engine. There are new Scene presets within the Omnisphere presets that can be toggled to swap out the entire FX bus. It's now HiDPI.

It's worth watching the videos for each expansion pack to see what's now possible.

On the Nylon Sky overview page, they mention a new Sky Verb and Sky Channel
