Reposting here as it's U-He related!

---
Recently discovered just intonation, using a .tun file loaded into U-He Diva. Sounds amazing, but I'm not sure yet how to use it! The .tun file I found for Just Intonation seems to be based around C - is there any way I could use this in a different key? Sounds like when I 'transpose' first in Diva it's doing that in such a way that the microtonal tuning transposes too, in which case all set.

Any tips on this welcome! :help:

The only way is to write a transposed .tun file. This is a problem with the u-he synths exept for the new Repros where instead of MIDI transposition they do actual pitch transposition. I have no idea what is the purpose of this since we can have MIDI transposition in the DAW. In the synth we need pitch transposition.

OK thanks Yorgos!

Damn that adds a complication...

Just had another play with this... seems like with "ji_12" selected: If I just play everything in 'C' into Diva, and use Diva's transpose in the 'Tuning' section to get it in the right key, everything works pretty well! Or am I missing something?

I think it .tun file is not only way - but everything else is (as far as I know) damn tricky or works only for native devices or than it is hell time consuming.

In Bitwig´s MIDI transposition (Note Pitch Shifter device) I can not change Fine tuning (Cents) - it works only for DAW´s native instruments (same goes for new Microtuning device). So it may have some purpose...

Does anybody find faster way to use modified scales than just .tun files - and I mean for regular stuff (nothing fancy), like faking that object is coming closer (Doppler shift), or just having fun with echoes or just environmental sounds..

(Sorry for commenting on old topic, but its content is for me still actual...)

MTS-ESP will do that, no?
I only use the free barebones version so can't check, but i think the 'Suite'' does that.

Thanx man.
Now I am checking demo.. looks like there are no ratios, just freq., semitones etc.... but otherwise it is pretty cool: microtuning vst device. Definitely solving the issue of changing .tun files in dozens synths...

I still think that that if you add equal temperament ratio over your desired one - like for example in BW grid, you may be better off.

Thanx a lot for interesting comment...

Came here to say this! I have the suite, and can confirm. Big thanks to u-he for integrating MTS-ESP so quickly... the whole u-he line works perfectly with MTS-ESP.

I highly recommend you guys check out MTS-ESP suite, infinitone DMT , and entonal studio . I have all three, and endorse them fully. It's been a phenomenal year for microtuning in digital audio (:

I think you may want to have a closer look at the "suite" page, and give the full version a demo. Ratios and sooo much more are certainly available in the MTS-ESP suite.

Also, please see my post above for two other wonderful microtuning environments (:
