Hi there,

i'm new to all of this and i'm really glad i found waveform. I would like to 8-bit(ish) music and i found the NES VST plugin. But when i try to load the plugin into waveform then the following error occurs:

Does that mean, the plugin is not compatible with waveform?
Thanks for the help.

Hi,
Is the NES plugin a 64-bit binary?

EDIT: if we talk about https://www.mattmontag.com/projects-page/nintendo-vst then it's a 32-bit, so you have to bridge it to make work with 64-bit Waveform

Thanks for the fast response and yep that's it.
I bridges it with j bridge and it works.
Thanks for your help!

I would advise NOT getting into bridging yet - it can be an undertaking, and not something you want to get into. You CAN get some inexpensive bridges that make it somewhat easier, or free ways to do bridging; but require special setup to get going.

Try another 64-bit VST that happens to have chiptune sounds (at least initially) to make life easier at the start. Google chiptune VST, but remember you want 64-bit ones.

TAL Noisemaker (free) has a large number of presets that have that Lo-Fi/Mario feel to them, as well as a large number of more conventional patches that you can dabble into when you get bleeped out. It's actually on some of those "best ofchiptune" lists.

Thanks for the advice. I keep that in mind and give TAL Noisemaker a try.
