Glad it removes prefixes - annoying things, tags are there to avoid having to use prefixes

Yes. If Keyscape is installed, it reads all of its categories and types and uses those when cleaning up patches.

How OmniTag works is that it scans your own installation to see what you have installed, and bases it's tagging decisions on that. So if you are Trilian owner, some categories will be open to you, like Bass Instruments that aren't there if you just own Omnisphere. Ditto Keyscape.
The decision for now is not to include any of the new Sonic Extensions in this process - for one thing these Extensions won't provide so much reliable data as before. The tags for an Extension patch encompass five scenes each, all of whom might exhibit very different characteristics from one another. Essentially OmniTag is unaffected by them, so it's no problem to have them installed or not.

Couldn't agree more! I take the view that prefixes belong in a pre-tag age, and it looks messy compared to everything else. But some do disagree, some developers are very passionate about them so there's a checkbox there if you want to keep those prefixes.

Yes here too - worked like a charm. Probably the sort of thing I'll only need to use a few times but the initial spring clean was most needed and has really tidied things up.

Yes, great to hear.
And yes, one it's done it's done -until you buy a new 3rd party expansion you'll just need to run it again for that. Also should Spectrasonics themselves change things - they've done it several times before - then you may need to re-run it.

Great to hear!
It's still amazing to me that it exists. So many years being frustrated by this issue... all I could think was to build some batch editor that would speed things up but would still take a very long time and be a total chore. That it works as brilliantly as it does in a single click on a whole army of libraries is an eternal joy for me

This is an eternal problem I'm struggling with. Roughly 30% hate them, 30% love them and the rest don't care. I tried having them - and not having them. I get blasted equally much from each camp. It's truly damned if you do - and don't thing.
Brilliant that Omnitag fixes that. Does it keep the integrity with the multis?
Or how is it now... are the presets buffered inside the multis so it doesn't matter? Can't remember.

When I first released OmniTag, it removed prefixes across the board. I got into a lot of hot water for that - people went to my Facebook page and said I was violating EULAs... one person even threatened legal action. Nasty stuff.DrGonzo wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 5:23 pm I get blasted equally much from each camp. It's truly damned if you do - and don't thing.

So a put in a toggle where you can keep the prefixes if you like. I didn't realize it was such a big deal until people started yelling at me.
In terms of Multis, OmniTag doesn't touch them. I think all the patch data is kept inside the Multi, so I would expect it to stay as-is - even if the underlying patches are changed by OmniTag.

2.0.7977 - NOVEMBER 3, 2021
- Updated logic to detect 'install problems', where libraries do not have the expected folder structure of: STEAM/Omnisphere/Settings Library/Patches/<library>/<categories>/<patch files>
- File copy and comparison logic now ignores .DS_Store files on Mac.
- Added sorting for patch and folder names on Mac version.
- Add new prefix overrides in Conform Engine.

Are there plans to conform other tags, such as genre and complexity? I believe Spectrasonics changed the 3 tier complexity system into 2 at some point, but many 3rd party still use the 3 tier system.

Hi GMusic - I know all the effort for the past year or more has been to get the Mac version up and running. It's a lot more work to get some of those other parameters compatible, and for some of them - especially genre - it feels like a lot of people would miss really basic genres that aren't included such as Trap, Dubstep etc if we eliminated those - even EDM doesn't exist!
Never say never though...
