Psh, good craft is art. Walt Whitman said it:
I hear America singing, the varied carols I hear,
Those of mechanics, each one singing his as it should be blithe and strong,
The carpenter singing his as he measures his plank or beam,
The mason singing his as he makes ready for work, or leaves off work,
The boatman singing what belongs to him in his boat, the deckhand singing on the steamboat deck,
The shoemaker singing as he sits on his bench, the hatter singing as he stands,
The wood-cutter’s song, the ploughboy’s on his way in the morning, or at noon intermission or at sundown,
The delicious singing of the mother, or of the young wife at work, or of the girl sewing or washing,
Each singing what belongs to him or her and to none else,
The day what belongs to the day—at night the party of young fellows, robust, friendly,
Singing with open mouths their strong melodious songs.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

This! And that is all :P
+1

Underrated: Synthmaster 1 and 2.
Thank you very much. These synths, which contain so many features and offer very serious sound opportunities to their users with thousands of factory presets, that you can make music of any genre, should be mentioned more.
All the best

I retract my previous claims of a bunch of softsynths being overrated. Same, re: the underrated.

Honestly, nothing comes to mind these days, for either case.

Oxford Inflator, you know what....

Anything less complex than this isn't worth to be called music. Unless, of course, you put a lofi effect on it, in which case the composition becomes essentially worthless.

f**king kill me. I had so much of this shit over the course of studying composition and i'm sick to death of it.
not to say there aren't a few exceptional atonal pieces, but there's so much terrible bizarre shit...

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I'm just a casual listener, if there ever was one for this type of stuff. So no traumatic experiences here. :hihi:

But every time I see someone saying that complexity, theory etc are what make music good. It's barely playable and has plenty of complexity. So this should be the apex of music. Not saying it's good or bad. I enjoy such music, but I also enjoy something like ... umm, let's say GG Alllin. What I don't enjoy is elitism, though.

The most over rated were those Crysonic classics :)

They all just evaporated over time...
No auto tune...
