Freeze with a Rack Filter?

Hi all. I'm a bit stuck on this one. My sequence includes a VSTi track to which I have added a rack filter. The rack is being used as an effect send. I'm returning the effect (reverb) via a separate track (thanks to the adbe tutorial!).
Everything works fine. However, when I try to freeze the VSTi track, I get no reverb for that particular track (the other tracks sending to the reverb are working just fine).

Can a frozen track still send to rack? Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

When you freeze, you pretty much "turn off" that track. It makes a temporary wave with the effects in that track and plays that. Everything else is turned off to save CPU power. That includes anywhere else you may be sending the track.

So if you are sending to another track, it won't freeze the send. You would have to put the reverb on the track you wish to freeze, or put it in the master effects section.

I hope this helped! Let us know!

Thanks koolkeys, that makes sense to me. My primary goal with freeze was to use CPU intensive VSTis, such as Crystal, with reckless abandon! I think for this purpose, I'll "render and add," then put the "send" rack filter in the new track (to keep the reverb level editible).

As an aside, I am very pleased with how well Tracktion performs with VSTis on OSX. It certainly has its own way of doing things, but the end result is stable, intuitive, fast, and light on the CPU. I'm enjoying getting to know Tracktion better and this forum has been a great help. Thanks again.
