I can't quite make out the scope of this claim. Are you referring to Fender and Presonus specifically, or to every business in the world?
Both, I guess.

Wait, businesses try to MAKE money? Damn, no wonder my business selling cash for 70 cents on the dollar failed :dog:

Interesting you mention Apple. I was one of the many who used Logic on Windows when that takeover happened. Didn't work out very well for us!

Sorry, but what a load of crap.
Let's just stay on topic, please.
Really? Which part is crap? Or can you not think of counter-arguments and just didn't like what I said? And how is this off-topic in a thread about a financial acquisition? It was also responding to a previous email saying capitalism sucks.

Bottom line, I know people at both companies and I wish them well.

I started with Logic on Windows and kept using it for several years before Apple acquisition. It wasn't good for me as well, but what I meant is they kept developing it even now. Mac only yes, but successful and popular.

Fender might do a similar step. Leaving the development of what make S1 attractive for beat makers and concentrate on guitar/band workflow and keep development that direction.

Anyway, all this talk is just talking! We won't be sure till the next version of S1 as this will tell us what direction S1 is heading.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I do beatmaking, so I definitely could see them getting away from that. Fender know nothing about that market (it's the most dominant market though: music production). Presonus staff are traditional musicians. They wanted the show page. So I'm sure many are happy.

They can say goodbye to the modern producers/beatmakers. What was the point of coming out with the Atom now? Studio One will never be as big in the modern music production space as logic/fl studio or Ableton.

Steinbeg and Apple have done the best with the daw acquisitions IMO.

To be fair, frankly - he's not wrong - it is the most dominant part of the amateur music industry (which is what all of the Gibsons, Fenders, Rolands, Akais, etc of the world have literally built companies on). Kids on their computers in front of their favorite DAW with a multitude of plugins long supplanted guitars as the "instrument of choice" a long, long time ago. Electronic music has been the dominant pop music base for decades. This is why companies like Ableton and others are absolute juggernauts.

I know all the guitarists in this thread hate knowing that, but it is what it is.
Win 10 | Ableton Live 11 Suite | Reason 13 | i7 3770 @ 3.5 Ghz | 16 GB RAM | RME Babyface Pro| Akai MPC Live 3 & Akai Force | Roland System 8 | Roland TB-3 | Roland MX-1 | Dreadbox Typhon | Korg Minilogue XD

Is it? I mean, care to point me towards some hard numbers of a trustable source? I’m really skeptical that bedroom producers in this world outnumber bedroom traditional musicians, or spend the same amount of dough. Electronically produced music is certainly dominant, but I don’t see it as being as full of participants as other forms at this point. Prove me wrong.

Yeah, but this is kinda stretched. "Bedroom" computer music only became really viable around 15 years ago, not "decades". Before that I'd say guitars and electronic instruments were pretty even among young musicians.
