if this thing become a buisness it might end up more expensive than a real modular, it s like giving you some drugs freely for you to test then asking a small price.. then if you want the new one everyone talking about it s again a small price so you jump on it.. and at the end you spent a fortune

It already is a business and has been ever since the beginning. They have released a few paid modules for VCV and some of the developers have also released paid modules.

Problem is of course that it can't ever actually cost the same amount as the real deal. Even if each single module costed money, because you don't need multiple ones to support polyphony.

It's just the launch of a specialised software, not the new iPhone....

most software is released weekdays, but that's because support teams are in the office, so any major issues can be pushed through.
pretty sure vcv is a one man operation, and may not be his full time job( just guessing i have no real information) so it would make more sense for a weekend release in this case, imo.

Hey, if the guy is confident there will be no problems (as it will be a paid version as well) or is offering support over the weekend when everyone tries to register there software then go for it...sooner the better for me (but I would wait for Monday!)

Release schedule
To give sufficient time to plugin developers to migrate their plugins, we guarantee the following minimum dates.

Oct 9 at earliest: Rack 2 Studio Edition pre-release licenses available to plugin developers and media.
Oct 23 at earliest: Declare Rack 2 API and ABI stable.
Nov 6 at earliest: Release Rack 2.0 Community Edition for download and Studio Edition for sale.

...The likelihood of it being released on the "earliest" possible day was very small. But it should be relatively soon (maybe this week, maybe a few more weeks).
