Since this one is seem to be flying a bit under the radar. Some might also remember Schaack for the Transient Shaper, so kind of glad to see him back. :phones:

AnalogQ allows you to equalize your material the analog way. While most available equalizer plugins suffer from having problems near Nyquist (half sample rate), such as distortion of the EQ shapes, AnalogQ is capable of generating an analog-like frequency response up to Nyquist while even allowing EQ center frequencies up to 30kHz, all without oversampling! The additional Natural Phase mode generates a near-perfect magnitude/phase response at the expense of very low (1ms) latency.

This one sounds and looks really, really nice. The highs are very smooth and you can drive it considerably before thinning out. Every control needed right in front of the face, no drop down menus or extra pages. The colour scheme could be a bit brighter but that's just me having an old mans eyesight. I also would like to be able to change the db resolution on the analyzer. Must use it a bit more before the final verdict but this is most probably a next-to-instabuy. The demo limitations with silence every 10 seconds is very, very annoying though. Might be the Friday feeling but this got the vibe of the bastard lovechild of Magpha EQ and Crave EQ?

Post

Small correction: the db resolution of the analyzer is possible to change with the mouse.

I understand piracy concerns but silence every 10sec is ridiculous.

Can you switch off the curve display? That would be very interesting, an EQ with no graphical display, just knobs, but more bands than in your typical console channel emulation à la SSL etc. although i really don’t see the need for shelves on every band, but then you could just ignore that.

Everything else around it, the company website with practically no information (what about copy protection? Resale policies?), the demo limitation (10sec?? Wtf?), the misleading marketing (it is just not true that “most available” EQ plugin suffer from distortion of EQ shapes near Nyquist), and the fact that it is only VST/windows (no AU/VST3/AAX) just doesn’t create the most professional impression, tbh...

Also, the installer triggered 5 detections on virustotal. Now i don’t think that there is a virus in it, as the five have mostly some generic “malware” from engines I’ve never heard before, but I’ve also never had five detections on installers so far, and i throw everything at virustotal before I install it.
So especially if the installers are not properly signed, developers should really go ahead and let their new product run through virustotal, for their own sake... it is just bad PR if people write in forums that their antivirus tool detected a malware in the installer, even it is most likely a false positive...

Can you drag those eq nodes around?

This is a very good EQ. I think it's better than Big FrEQ from Empirical Labs, Fab Filter ProQ, Crave, Equilibrium, Maat Blue, just to name a few.

I heard good things about the transient shaper, I guess I'll have to try this out.

It's definitely worth checking, it does the work, and it's getting regular support, updates & maintenance.

I noticed the developer said that this would be updated soon on GS with mid/side. Really like this EQ. Hoping it gets a click free global bypass button on the front panel.

People should try this EQ out.

Just been trying out a whole bunch of equalizers out of curiosity and i keep coming back to this one. It's SO good, i need to buy it.

I'd love to be able to just have the parametric window visible, but whatever, the sound is so full and "real" somehow.

Thanks for doing this one Schaack!

I'm still completely overwhelmed by the sound of this. There seems to be a new EQ released every week, and they're all sounding pretty much the same - while this one isn't. This is the one they all should be compared against. What a sound!

Can we hope for something happening on Black Friday etc?
