Just drag any JPG or PNG to your color palette on the left, and Bitwig will convert your pic to 27 colors. Then name it, and use the play (or arrow button) to see your new color palette.

It's cool, but needs some fixing, like the text and the waveforms/midi data in the clips should change to white when a dark color is used. Also, can't "delete" the color of a track if it's in a group.

Anyone else not able to log into/activate the beta? On Windows 11? Keeps saying incorrect username/password - have an active plan. Thanks

indeed, I never liked the old palette at all. but it would have been so much cooler if it held at least 6x18px instead of 3x9. and way better if you could make your own inside Bitwig. it seems like a clunky implementation to me, but at least we aren't stuck with the Bitwig palette anymore. now we only need to get rid of the ugly rusty orange terrorizing the ui.

I think id prefer pink, and id most certainly prefer grey. what I like most about live is the looks. I hope at some point they add an option to change it. that orange annoys me like a blue diode.

This is really cool. THanks for sharing.

An option for swapping out Bitwig UI color themes would be nice well. Maybe 4.2.

Whenever I got a new tool I didn’t like too much for its optics, it took some weeks to turn around completely, all other looks seemed to be old fashioned and the new one was just how it should look like…
If I insist on my taste, I would have a problem if the tool else wise fits my needs…
I never liked the look of Live, but I never liked Live so much anyway. The look of Max changed several times since I use it. At first I always liked the old look better until it was just old… It moved to rounded corners and back for example… I really don’t care as long it works…

Post

I hated When Max got Round corners. But it didnt take long before I started to really like it. Unfortunately That’s not ever gonna happen with the Bitwig orange.

I don't like that the "joker" colour has disappeared (and was replaced by faint purple). I used it a lot to make sure track in Group take the group colour, etc. What's weirder, if you open an old project that uses "joker" colour it still works, i.e. if I change the colour of the Group the tracks will follow.

I filed a bug report. I don't like this particular change. I think they should keep the "joker" in the default palette.

I also asked for a setting for default track colour and ability to disable auto colouring. All the other DAWs have this.

But otherwise those custom colour palettes are AWESOME!!!

What about recoloring existing projects?
Ok, probably have to do that track by track, clip by clip, scene by scene.

Or an option so that existing colors are automatically reassigned to the most fitting colors of the new palette? (least distance in color space)
