Reason free trial is gone. Now they charge 1$ to the equivalent of free trial

'kay - but they made it super-super hard (i.e. next to impossible) to find that. It requires three inside informations that I did not find at any point that is accessible from starting at the mainpage:
a) that the full version has a demo-mode
b) the actual download-location
3) that the "updates" are in fact complete version installers

So what are you saying? Is there a free trial still? I couldn't find it on the website. I'm banned from RT so can't see the "discussion" there...

I just read the gaggle's post and corrected my reply - see above. The possibility to demo Reason still exists, but nobody without special insider information will be able to use it and nobody looking for a demo will search/find this information but instead assume there is no demo.

Mr brilliant genius that forum thread you mentioned - I posted about that way to trial on page 1 of this thread.gaggle of hermits wrote: Tue Nov 09, 2021 6:36 am top concern trolling there kmonkey. you must have some time on your hands with nothing better to do:

That's a forum hack posted by forum moderator from unofficial Reason forum. You are still not able to trial Reason for free - not anymore. Demo mode means crippled Reason and no chance to trial any Rack Extension anymore - whatsoever.
Genius.
If there is a way to run Reason and Rack Extension for free in fully trial mode like it used to be - show us! Where's a link? There is none. Because there is no way anymore.
If anyone is trolling then that's you.

You can not find it because there is no free trial anymore. The guy is posting nonsense and calling names. Probably a fanboy whatever.antic604 wrote: Tue Nov 09, 2021 7:19 am So what are you saying? There is no chance to run a free trial since yesterday. You can ask someone to share the Reason 12 download link and then you can install Reason 12 and try to run it in demo mode. That's an unofficial way spotted by a forum moderator on reasontalk.
But you can not trial Reason fully and most definitely you can not trial Rack Extension anymore. I wonder how RE developers feel about the whole stunt.
Anyway if there's a free trial anyone would be able to find it where it was.

This is all so extremely pathetic. I wonder if the dudes over at RS still enjoy going to work each day.
They literally created that thread about the demo-download over at RT yesterday, so their army of fanboy's could swarm out and call everybody claiming there was no demo a troll.
If they wanted the demo to be used / known of, they certainly wouldn't create a thread in an unofficial user-forum about it. They would mention/link to it on the product's page instead.
That is some lame bullshit no healthy company would stoop down to.

Note that Demo mode is not what free trial used to be. In free trial you had fully functional Reason for 7 days. Demo mode is limited mode.jens wrote: Tue Nov 09, 2021 7:15 am 'kay - but they made it super-super hard (i.e. next to impossible) to find that. + in that "demo" mode - You can not trial for free 3rd party Rack Extension anymore - AT ALL. Not even those from Propellerheads.

Still a "trial" mode would be a demo-mode so I'd say you inadvertedly move the goal-post right now.

There is a nice general explanation on the first result in google. Trial and Demo aren't the same.
http://www.differencebetween.info/diffe ... mo-product
A trial product is a product where a person gets the full software but there will be a time limit. It is basically to test a product. If a person has used the product once, he cannot use the same product another time. The company will block a particular person and he will not be able to access the same product in his PC.
[Demo Product] A demo is an abbreviation of ‘demonstration’. A demo product is a product, where software will be downloaded but only one of its parts will work.
Precisely what they cut out.

Oh, I see. And now I noticed that you actually used the proper term in the thread-title already (i.e. you never actually mentioned the lack of a "demo mode" yourself), so you are absolutely correct and it makes their reaction even more pathetic (if that's possible at all).

That reminds me of their bullshit when they raised the pric (most significantly) - "upgrade now for the price of twenty years ago"

Where do they teach business tactics like that? Their new CEO is either very desperate or very deluded - or both

Well I just noticed a small typo in there (chrge). Anyhow it's entertaining reading the reasontalk forum and it's cool having the option to post here without being censored or attacked over there. I know it's a gossip thread a bit. Controversial. But I am pretty sure Reasonstudios won't die anytime soon whatsoever. But the whole free trial removal is really weird.
As someone said on reasontalk - this wasn't published on their roadmap

I loathe this opt out of a trial bullshite when they have your credit card details and then start charging you if you just forget to opt out on the right day. It is a very deliberate and malicious marketing strategy..so F.U. Reason Studios, you want to play that crap, I consider our relationship (since 2.5) OVER!

it's funny you mention that, given your OP bangs on about how people are writing about it at said forum. I went to have a look and found the thread I posted. I didn't find much in the way of people being up in arms just that thread.kmonkey wrote: Tue Nov 09, 2021 7:24 am hat's a forum hack posted by forum moderator from unofficial Reason forum. but, go on, keep foaming at the mouth. the torches and pitchforks brigade round here seem to be constantly willing to show up even if they're not at that other forum.
