i haven't checked out the other EA verbs but others have commented that neoverb isn't a replacement and that it doesn't 'deliver the goods' of what makes the EA verbs special.
Alternative to Phoenixverb for real spaces?

I checked out a bunch of the reverbs discussed. Here's my thoughts:
Acon Digital Verberate2. It sounds good, and I really want to like it. Unfortunately, it's just not a really good option for real space simulation. There is way too much Lexicon-style modulation in the tail. It sounds underwater. But I would definitely use it for artificial reverb effects.
Flux IRCAM Verb V3. This one sounds really good. The 2 big drawbacks are it's not at all user friendly because of the cluttered, confusing interface, and it's VST2 only. I am really loathe to put money towards a plugin that doesn't support VST3 at this point. That tells me the developer is either uninterested or unable to staying current. If they can't or won't support VST3 even with VST2 being DEAD since 2018, what's chance does native M1 support have?
d16 Spacerek. This one sounds quite good for real acoustics. But it is extremely limited. I had high hopes for it when I saw it calculates precise source and mic location within the room. That was dashed when I discovered those placements are fixed.
TC VSS3 & VSS4. Both of these sound really good and utterly realistic. VSS4 is true stereo and a real CPU hog. VSS3 is lighter on the CPU, but is a mono->stereo reverb. VSS4 is the clear winner among all of the ones I tried for placing multiple dispersed sound sources in an acoustic space.
DearVR. Wow. It's a little different than the others. It does acoustic spaces but it's really more about placing the source it is on within a 3D field. I think you could get amazing results using it to stage individual players, then bussing them to VSS4. But at that point, you've spent as much as you would for Inspirata of MIR Pro.
I'm leaning towards either Inspirata or MIR, because they really do precisely what I'm looking for. I think testing them out is going to be a much bigger undertaking and commitment than the previous verbs, but I will be doing that next. I'll start with MIR since it has a 30 day trial, then start the Inspirata 14 day trial after 2 weeks.

Weirdly I'm getting some nice results from the Room Reverb that comes with Studio One 5

I have been nervous about 2CAudio due to a lack of updates and such since the Precedence release as well. Would be nice to get an E-mail from them about what is happening and not just for a sale.

Really this is an unrecognised gem - it's great for real spaces but can do some lusher big room reverbs too

Those prices really make me glad that Relab is doing a System-6000 and whenever it gets out of beta, I already have a license waiting for me.jamcat wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 5:28 pmYou can get VSS4 HD Native or the entire System 6000 bundle from this link:aMUSEd wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 11:50 amTrying in vain to find anywhere that sells this onejamcat wrote: Sun Nov 14, 2021 10:48 pm TC VSS3 & VSS4. It's amazing how much Behringer (TC Electronic) is charging for the software when they've got analog polysynths for less than that. But I guess the System 6000 has a reputation and to-date, they're able to get away with those prices.

Will this one support VST3?Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 5:55 pm Those prices really make me glad that Relab is doing a System-6000 and whenever it gets out of beta, I already have a license waiting for me.
Relab for some reason has so far only supports the deprecated VST2 standard, despite it no longer being part of the VST spec. Relab’s plugins will soon be obsolete if they’re not updated, since new developers/hosts are unable to support the dead VST2 format, and the next generation of DAWs will support VST3 only. I won’t spend good money on a plugin that doesn’t support VST3. That’s a ripoff in 2021.
TC’s actual System 6000 plugins are VST3. They may be expensive, but at least they have a future.

I get that you clearly prefer VST3 and it's a requirement for you - that's certainly your choice and right. That said, I don't know where the idea that VST2 is depreciated comes from. Steinberg is dropping Apple Silicon+VST2 support, but otherwise continues to support VST2 plugins. New developers cannot create VST2 plugins. All existing DAWs that have always supported VST2, will continue to do so (with the exception of Steiny on Apple Silicon hardware - note: Studio One and Reaper support VST2 on Apple silicon). Every developer I'm aware of who supported VST2 in the past, continue to release new VST2 plugins. I really don't see any practical evidence that VST2 is being depreciated. Steinberg may be trying to phase it out by not issuing new licenses for VST2, but I don't see anyone else dropping support (hosts or plugin makers).

VST2 is no longer included in the VST SDK as of 2018. New developers also can’t create VST2 hosts.
So the next new DAW or audio editor that comes out will not support obsolete VST2 plugins. On any platform. Plugin consumers need to understand this. It is buyer beware for VST2 only plugins.

I'm confident Relab will eventually get around to VST3 support. Not sure if it will be for the System-6000 plugin or later on, but I'm sure they'll eventually get there. Seems like the major frameworks make spitting out a VST3 plugin easier than it had been.
Either way, I'm still using VST2 here where both versions exist just because the VST3 versions of plugins seem consistently more buggy. I'm confident my hosts will support VST2 ten years from now and developers will continue to update their existing VST2 plugins.

I spoke with devs who assured me this was not the case, they didnt even use the Steinberg SDKjamcat wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 7:06 pm VST2 is no longer included in the VST SDK as of 2018. New developers also can’t create VST2 hosts.

VSL doesn't even support VST3 in VE Pro (and it doesn't appear to be a high priority) so it seems doubtful MIR Pro is going to go VST3-only any time soon, as the def. more powerful use of is in VE Pro.

BTW, Precedence didn't exhibit any problem on my 2019 MBP under Big Sur. Caveat: I didn't try to automate anything, didn't/don't really need it. I'm not wowed by the sound, and I suspect automation is going to have zipper noise and issues.
