Bitwig replaced all other DAWs for me since it came out, before that, I kept several current.
Like I wrote, you can update whenever you feel the amount of new stuff satisfies you, it's not a subscription where you lose your license if you don't pay. I find it a very reasonable solution.
I got my first 1.0 license in March 2014 and since then updated 3 times, with my current plan running until june next year.
I usually get the update in a sale at JRR where it comes out at under 100 Euro.
And it's the coolest and most clever DAW on the market for me and what I do.
Disclaimer: Through some happy accidents, I was a betatester before 1.0 came out and worked as a freelancer for them directly after the release for some months to improve the controller-script situation and help with support.
I also was a moderator here on KVR for some years in the Bitwig Forum (unpaid).
I'm no longer involved with the company or the product, other than that I totally love it
Cheers,
Tom
