I personally yes.
Bitwig replaced all other DAWs for me since it came out, before that, I kept several current.
Like I wrote, you can update whenever you feel the amount of new stuff satisfies you, it's not a subscription where you lose your license if you don't pay. I find it a very reasonable solution.
I got my first 1.0 license in March 2014 and since then updated 3 times, with my current plan running until june next year.
I usually get the update in a sale at JRR where it comes out at under 100 Euro.
And it's the coolest and most clever DAW on the market for me and what I do.
Disclaimer: Through some happy accidents, I was a betatester before 1.0 came out and worked as a freelancer for them directly after the release for some months to improve the controller-script situation and help with support.
I also was a moderator here on KVR for some years in the Bitwig Forum (unpaid).
I'm no longer involved with the company or the product, other than that I totally love it
Cheers,
Tom

Thanks again Tom for piquing my interest.
I installed the demo version, but I don't see any demo projects. Are there none that come with the demo version?
I found this: https://www.bitwig.com/sound-content/bi ... ojects-35/
I now have 7 templates that I can play with. I don't understand why the demo version doesn't come with demo projects (if that is the case).
Edit: Looks like there may be a few on the Quick Start tab/panel.

Sorry, didn't get a notification. But if you want to chat more about Bitwig, maybe better move over to the Bitwig forum and ask there or pm me, I wouldn't want to annoy people here too much with these DAW-specific things...
I haven't looked at the demo version in years, so can't say much about this, but you seem to have found the ones that are included.
Otherwise, I highly recommend Polarity's videos on Youtube, he is a real master with generative things in Bitwig.
He also hosts a huge library of projects and presets on Github, which he usually links fron his videos, like this one about the latest beta:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnYYJeBPl8A
In other, more general news:
The generative and free "Bespoke" DAW has been updated to 1.1 and while 1.0 was already very interesting, 1.1 is massively more usable.
VST scanning is overhauled and now also works with larger numbers of plugins.
Midi output from plugins works now as well as multichannel output.
Python is now bundled so you can live-code away inside the DAW or just use all the existing modules with your plugin collection.
Tons of other new and updated stuff (see the release notes in the Github-link below) so if you were running against a wall with 1.0 (like me), this is the time to give it another go.
Really fun and tons of generative tools and ideas.
Very different, but in a good way if you let yourself be taken in.
The Bespoke discord server is also very active and helpful if you get stuck or look for inspirations.
https://www.bespokesynth.com
https://github.com/BespokeSynth/Bespoke ... tag/v1.1.0

Highly recommended.
For me, it's the most interesting release in 2021.
Cheers,
Tom

Haven't seen the Audiomodern Playbeat v3 update mentioned here yet, looking pretty good.

With the Ableton sale, I just bought Flexgroove (M4L device), and I'm digging how it works. Previously, I have messed around with exponential rhythms, using Sandman Pro's multi-tap spacing parameter, but Flexgroove gives me new options and flexibility. It was $37.00 with the sale--not cheap, relative to other M4L devices, with such a focused use.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

At this price I may just get this.
Not sure when the sale ends.

Bitwig's arp is my favorite arpeggiator. I don't use 3rd party arp's anymore. With Bitwig 4.1 adding a bunch of midi FX, plus the ways they interact, and can be modulated, including per voice, I have no further need for such plugins.
Scaler 2.5 is cool for chords...

I'm trying to get Playbeat to drive drum pads in Atlas in Studio One - anyone know if this works? I cant get it working but maybe midi out isnt supported in the playbeat trial version? Audiomodern dont allow midi export in their trial version so I guess thats plausible.

Looks like I will pass on the Sonic-Lab Cosmosf M31 stochastic midi event processor
https://www.sonic-lab.com/cosmosfm31/
BF sale -30%=$83.30
I have Architect and in two or three years when the presets are ready it may include something similar to this.
