MDrummer Digital Artifacts

I'm getting random low-volume digital artifacts when I play back drum patterns I've composed with any MDrummer kit in drumpad mode. I've tried adjusting volume levels in different ways, but the problem persists. Any advice please?

I'm using Logic 10.7 on a MacBook Pro (Intel i7), using Mac OS 11.6.1.

On further investigation, I think the "multicore" feature is causing my problems. When I turn it off, MDrummer sounds fine. But why should this be?
