Certain VSTs won't keep their patches

I was using Synth 1 and an old Model E synth from Roland and all was fine for the first few hours of working on my project, but suddenly now whenever playback reaches a MIDI clip in a track that uses either of those VSTs the patch I set is wiped and it goes track to whatever number 20 is.

Can't remember changing any settings but I don't know what I can try to get my patches to save like they were an hour ago.

Other VSTs I am using in the same project haven't done this or anything like it; I'm hoping someone knows what's going on and can give me advice!

Okay..... it appears that it's my controller.... I'm using two.... and the problem occurs with one but not the other..... it must be sending a default patch signal whenever I record....................... but *I* didn't tell it do that????

Nope, i reported the same issue...and I got no response

Hello, my project is not saving the preset setup for the 808 Bass module Vsti, I tested the same Vsti with another application and the problem does not seem to be with the plugin. My current workaround is to render the track but shouldn't the any preset changes be saved with the edit.

I am using Windows 10, Waveform Pro 11.5

to be fair, the problem seemed to resolve when using the vsti3 version of the same plugin
