Bitwish was born a week ago as a proposal for a Bitwig community wishlist. The start looks promising: These are the 5 most voted requests: We can welcome more bitwiggers! Everyone gets 10 votes. Help is welcome identifying alternative ways to achieve features requested, natively or through plugins.

At a splitter tool like Studio One has to the Wishlist :-)

This is great! Thanks for making this.

midi capture, my people :D

personally I hope people stick to discussing bitwig and making polls here.

sorry

Post

Why sorry? Both things are compatible, just like jams and DAWs. Discussions and polls here are very good at capturing opinions and feelings on the spot. The problem is, most of them vanish quickly.

As KVRians suggest often when they see a good idea, contacting Bitwig support is the best way to avoid that it is forgotten in the depths of the forum. However, the problem of sending an email to support@ is that community collaboration is not possible, which is a pity and misses the fun.

Bitwish allows to capture those opinions and feelings, and then convert them into good quality feature requests collaboratively. People can work on the most popular requests, and they can also focus on their pet peeve with a couple more peers caring about the same. Through this collaboration, you can quickly produce feature requests with a quality that is more difficult (although possible) to reproduce here. See for instance this draft being polished as we speak:

In the end, accumulative votes from many people over time produce a community wishlist that is really complex to produce, retain and keep updated with a poll here:

Do you like numbers? Bitwish participants are using 3,7 votes out of the 10 they have (average). Of every five Bitwish participants, one hasn’t voted yet, one has voted just once, and only one has used 7 or more votes. That’s a lot of unused votes. (63%)

We have sent a message to all our users (99) encouraging them to vote:

On November 30, we will take a first picture of the Bitwig community wishlist. It will be our first achievement since Bitwish was born just a couple of weeks ago.

Excellent, I love this; spent most of my votes on some great ideas, and will try to promote this!

That video is great and the voice sounds really good as well, a good teachers voice :tu:

Which video? :)

To be clear, Bitwish as such isn't producing any videos, and neither we are hosting them. The goal is to collect, organize and even upvote links to useful tutorials that other Bitwig lovers are publishing, mainly on YouTube.

Wow, I am surprised to see there is no "VST plugin block" on the list. I see "PD Block" on the list, though.

You know, this is a problem with a simple solution. ;)

All feature requests are submitted by Bitwig users scratching their own itches. If a VST plugin block for The Grid is relevant to you, you can create a request. If you are busy, you can even add a title, a couple of lines of descriptions, and chances are that someone else (and/or maybe yourself another day) will complete the draft.

Post

Oh, I guess I misunderstood the call for participation. I thought it was to work on the current proposals and not create new ones.

My thinking is: I should only vote for features that I care about. If I picked other stuff just to use my available votes, that would dilute the votes for the stuff that I actually want.

I want grid containers.
I'd like to be able to host devices in FX Grid without cheesy workarounds.
I'd like MIDI I/O modules in the Grid.

That's about it. And I'm not really desperately burning for any of those, I can live with Bitwig exactly as it is now for the next 10 years and happily continue making music if that's what it comes down to :tu:
