MchorusMB vs MVibratoMB

What is the difference between MchorusMB and MVibratoMB, I can achieve similar results in both of them (Vibrato Effect), but are there any differences in the algorithm or is it just a question of layout and parameter ranges?
MBChorus modulates the pitch even further than MBVibrato at max depth.
Anyone care to shed some light any help appreciated

I am not a developer, so I can only speak from a sound design perspective:
Vibrato is a pitch wobble.
Chorus is basically a vibrato which is set differently for each channel, so you get stereo effect. However most chorus unit have a delay parameter, which allows you to get that extra click when the chorus becomes audible, which results in perceivably bigger sound.
MB = multi band, so you can set the effect to work only in a certain band, say 100hz-1khz, or make a x number of bands and apply the effect for each band differently.

MVibrato(MB) varies the pitch of your signal over time. MChorusMB creates up to 10 copies of your signal and varies their pitch over time.
That means you can probably do everything that MVibratoMB does in MChorusMB but MVibratoMB can't replace MChorusMB.

Wouldn't a bunch of vibratos panned differently replace a chorus unit?Held wrote: Tue Nov 30, 2021 9:58 am MVibrato(MB) varies the pitch of your signal over time. MChorusMB creates up to 10 copies of your signal and varies their pitch over time.

Yes, probably. You can also set MVibratoMB in parallel mode and do get up to 6 additional voices. But from the description of MChorusMB, I would guess that it does some additional stuff under the hood to avoid phasing and other issues.
MChorusMB Sales Page wrote:One of the differences between a high-end chorus and a cheap toy is in the decorrelation (separation) of each voice. If the voices are too similar, phasing occurs, the chorus sounds predictable and just ugly. MChorusMB quality will stand up, even to the most demanding ears, and can adjust to any audio material.

It's just a fancy way of saying that the Lfo's are randomized to avoid sounding similar, in essence it seems that the vibrato and chorus plug ins are the same plug in a different box with diferente rages and some options, but maybe there is more to it.Held wrote: Tue Nov 30, 2021 11:48 am Yes, probably. And that's why I would rather have a modular from melda based on unix philosophy. Just simple modules, and not x number of modules which do the same thing. With a basic delay module you could obtain effects such as chorus, echo, reverb, flanger, comb filter. Although this won't happen most likely, I've read an interview with Vojtech in which he stated he finds most modulars too clumsy, because you have to connect everything yourself. Anyways, I'm still happy for MSF to be what it is.
