They can! Theoretically. But it depends on VST developer's good will

Read the documentation of your VST, there should be midi controllers table. Or not...

i was thinking of somthing that lets me controll the traction autamation with a midi cc like if i want to controll a eq by a midi controler 4 live rocording of autamation? if not maby a wrapper in the soon to be present

P.S this software rocks cant beleave the power & controll 4 the £$£!!!

Right now, Tracktion's automation is done via VST rather than MIDI. However, our good friend ModuLR has provided a workaround software, found HERE. Also to be found are the much-used Stepchild (step-sequencer) and Senderella (for doing basic sends more easily than with Racks). Grab'em all, and have a listen to ModuLR's music while you're there.
