First, thanks for your reply and will to help!
I am on Windows, too. I tried to follow your advice, but with the same result as before.
You write about wave shells, I only have one waveshell there, WaveShell1-...x64.dll which I dragged onto shell2vst64.exe. So far so good. The waves folder is generated, each of the dll's there shows up with a size of 5KB. I copied them to my vst-folder and did a rescan in MuLab.

Did I overlook something?

The amount of waveshells depends on which plugins you have bought, think of them as containing "collections" of waves plugins. I to have had instances when it has not worked (which is why I erased my plugins and did it again today to check it worked). The waves plugins in my vst folder are 5KB too and work, so I'm not sure why its not working for you, sorry

I wish I could explain why its not working Franziska. As I said previously, it hasn't always worked for me. Reading my step by step, I noticed I hadn't mentioned the folder with the shell to wave programme is in my vst folder and that I left the WaveShells in that folder, see if that works.

Meanwhile I have googled about that. I think it is due to the waveshell-version that it does not work for me. Recent versions of waveshell seem not be supported by the shell2vst-tool. But I have found a workaround for me by using a modular plugin that can recognize the wave plugins and works as a wrapper (i have used the Soundigy MIDI Lab vst for that).
