High Level / Low Level Compression

Hi all,

I asked Melda where I should ask questions, and he referred me to this page, so I'm so excited to be a part of this community of similarly-equipped producers and engineers.

I'm an owner of MCompleteBundle and would like to use the Waves MV2 Low-Level Compressor.

I'm wondering how I might recreate it with Melda plugins.

At a guess, I'm thinking that plugin is just a simplified interface for downward compression and upward compression... so sort of two processes in one. I've used it before but what it was doing was rather obfuscated so I didn't like it.

You can use MDynamicsMBLarge (not sure about other versions) to do this. It has two dynamics processors, you can set one to upward compress and the other to downward compress. You could even make multiparameters to mimic the interface of this waves plugin.

I just created this very quickly for you in MDynamicsMBLarge, just copy the code below, add the plugin and hit the 'paste' button in the bottom left:

Here's a thread I bookmarked long ago that I keep coming back to a re-reading. It covers a little on upward compression and some unique Melda features. A LOT of good info to digest!

vectorwarrior - I've been poking around MDynamicsMBLarge for some time looking for where I'm to copy paste the code you so generously wrote up for me. Where might I do that? Thanks so much again.

Yeah, I misspoke, I meant the bottom right.

It's in the toolbar, the set of icons on the far right. All melda plugins have it. The copy paste buttons are a little unclear, but they look similar. Sorry I'm not at my pc or I'd screenshot it.
