Anyone try the 3.5 update yet? If I'm not mistaken it has changed the sound of at least one of my old patches and not for the better. I'll have to check it tomorrow before installing the update on my studio computer.

It might be my imagination but it seems more CPU demanding if that's even possible. Again I'll have to test the old version before installing the update and compare the numbers.

The new distortion fx and comb filters are excellent, getting some weird Autechre tones along with the granular engine...

That synth is getting one hell of a beast! :o

I just downloaded ASC (v 2.4.0.1764) and it requires Rosetta to install.

EDIT: If the application (ASC) itself is native, I might be able to extract it and install manually. I did that with the Valhalla plugins which are native but the installers are not.

Yes and it's still native. See here

Do you really want me to make a screenshot of the «about» asc on my mac that says «universal» or will you believe what's written on the official website?

Cross modulation opens up a whole new sonic realm. Additive modulated by granular, man!

The app is native but the installer isn't, otherwise it wouldn't ask me to install Rosetta. I might be able to manually extract the application from the installer and use it that way.

There is also a special offer to get the new Energy Triad Bundle (450 presets in total) for Pigments for $29.99.

That is the new feature that I'm the most excited about. Looking forward to diving in this weekend.

As much as I am quickly turning into a baptised Arturia fanboy - I do wish they would spend a bit more time on working on the small details on the framework of their synths. I absolutely love the sound of their new stuff - but always find some small rough edges in the operation. It's like they are having two teams working on the code. One for the synth engines and one for the UI and operation. Just wish they would put in a bit more energy into the latter. Nothing deal-breaking, just details.

What I don't get is that they're adding distortion options but there is still only _1_ reverb algorithm.

It's the same with Hive. Such a weird and lame design decision, especially given that both devs clearly know how to make reverbs.

They both sell reverb plug ins, hmm?
Seriously, it's not necessarily the worst area to be weak in. :)

100% agreed! And to be fair - the reverb in Pigments _is_ really nice. But an alternative algo would be nice.

Yes, internal synth reverbs, I regard as typical showroom-feature beside maybe delay to make presets impressive, because in the mix I assume most want to take their own more sophisticated reverbs and delays.

Other way around with eq, modulation, distortion and dynamics. This I regard as an essential part of the signature sound.

Anyone tried these? I assume they focus on the new features in 3.5

Seems like a good deal for 3 sound banks, but I am still going thorough the 150 free new ones (they are really good!)
