Not a lot of difference, I would say 😉

A warm hello,
I would like to thank you very much for this script. The Komplete Kontrol mk2 S49 dialog with Bitwig Studio is running.
I'm an old Steinberg user and came across Live 11 a few weeks ago and Bitwig Studio last week. Kind regards #citherplayer.

So, it seems not receive any data from the device. Do you see any errors in the JavaScript console or the Bitwig log file?
I am afraid I have no idea what the issue is on your system.

The only thing I see in the console is this for Global...

Screenshot 2021-12-18 at 13.22.04.png

and this for Flexi...

Screenshot 2021-12-18 at 13.23.11.png

I've just tried loading the original `.properties` file which I saved back when this was all working. If I load in a project with this active, this is what the Flexi console says...

Screenshot 2021-12-18 at 13.28.07.png

Unfortunately, despite the `.properties` file having been loaded, moving the Midimix faders still makes no difference to Bitwig.

I've been digging a little deeper and I've found a file `/Users/carlcaulkett/Library/Application Support/Bitwig/Bitwig Studio/telemetry-data/2021-12-18-4.1.2.json` which contains this section...

Screenshot 2021-12-18 at 13.41.34.png

Should I be concerned about the occurrence of the word "unknown" in there?

Should I also be concerned that, whereas the section for the "audio interface" has entries specified for the "input" and "output", no such entries are there for the Midi Mix or the Impulse?

Also, does the fact that I even see entries for the Midi Mix in the Flexi settings mean that something is getting through?

I should also point out that if I just use the ad-hoc "Map to controller or key" option, the MIdi Mix fader is able to control the Bitwig volume...

Of course, I cannot use this approach either because as soon as I try to add a second mapping for track 2, Bitwig doesn't recognise the second fader as being a different fader to the first. Both faders control both track volumes together in parallel. Note also the duplicated CC0 (Ch 1) device ID on the right...

Could it be that all your controllers are set to the same CC? Is there an editor for the MIDIMIX?

Post

You might be on to something here. Yes there is an editor and this is what it is showing for my current state of the Midi Mix...

Screenshot 2021-12-18 at 15.08.18.png

I take that you would expect something different...

I was a bit too eager there, I thought you were asking if they were set to the same channel, not the same CC 🙁

Okay, as you were. After saving the default layout with different CCs, I activated the option to "Load from Hardware". This is what I found and is presumably what the problem has been...

Less than healthy, I would contend 😉

We have some progress 😃 I used the send to hardware option with the previously saved set of CCs. And now I have independently working faders on tracks 1 and 2. It just remains for me to activate the previously saved `MidimixDub.properties` file and I should, God willing, be up and dubbing again.

Thanks for your patience and help, Moss. I really think that this has sorted out the issue. It's been almost 3 months since I've been able to use the Midi Mix properly. Have a cool Yule 😉

Anyone knows how to set up a CC to control the timbre modulator in the Generic Flexi? CC74 doesn't work. Probably it's something more special.

1) Learn and set CC74 in a Generic Flexi slot
2) Select "User Paramter 1" as the function in the slot
3) MIDI-learn the parameter you want to control in Bitwig by selecting MIDI learn from the right-click menu and move/turn your fader/knob.
