I downloaded the previous version from archive and can see the options.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Tue Dec 21, 2021 5:33 pmThanks, that's where I saw but don't see any resize options. Can it be a demo limitation? Ridiculous if that's the case.OneOfManyPauls wrote: Tue Dec 21, 2021 5:08 pmIt's in menu > gui options > 100/150/200% zoom optionsLoveEnigma18 wrote: Tue Dec 21, 2021 4:54 pm Does anyone know if Reveal Sound Spire has resizable GUI? I downloaded the demo but not seeing any option to change GUI size, can only see themes.

Confused between Dune 3 and Spire.
Spire sounds great and is cheaper right now, $99. Dune 3 sounds darker and more clean and rich, which also suits my taste.

They are both great and the most used ones for me this year alongside reaktor and the original massive (had a very enjoyable long revisit with it after spending the first 4-5 months of the year with massiveX exclusively.
They mix a bit differently. Spire is really easy to mix.

Thanks for the advice. I can afford only one of them right now. I will play with the demos for some more time.Sindikhate wrote: Wed Dec 22, 2021 8:23 am They are both great and the most used ones for me this year alongside reaktor and the original massive (had a very enjoyable long revisit with it after spending the first 4-5 months of the year with massiveX exclusively.

Yeah, original Massive and Massive X are my favorites too. Wish they do a resizable GUI for Massive soon.

Dune 3 is NKS compatible so that's an advantage for me over Spire. Just saying.

Very tough decision, as i got both but am no sound design pro so dont take me 100% but for me dune3 with the latest update is awesome and even before it sounds just awesome and totally big (it can!) Maybe it is also because of the inbuilt effects. Spire has its own character both would complement each other well as dune 3 is big in nature spire can fill out e.g. smaller/thinner sounds and is kinda metallic. So if you want a u-he like synth get dune3 in my opinion. They stepped it up with 3.5, just one osc sounds awesome. I didnt research why so again im no pro. I just love the synth. Otherwise you could go with vital as a spire synth and add dune3.

Thanks for the suggestion. Even I am not much into sound design. It's just that I am missing this kind of synth in my collection. I am leaning towards Dune 3 mainly for its sound, GUI, and NKS compatibility.Caine123 wrote: Wed Dec 22, 2021 12:33 pm Very tough decision, as i got both but am no sound design pro so dont take me 100% but for me dune3 with the latest update is awesome and even before it sounds just awesome and totally big (it can!) Could Pigments 3 or Massive (original) be considered closer to Spire in terms of sound? Not exactly, but just trying to do this comparison as I those plugins. Perhaps Dune 3 and Pigments 3 could together fill any gap and I could skip Spire then.

There used to be an (unofficial) NKS pack for Spire, but, it has been removed. Probably couldn't keep up with the new sounds added with some updates.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Dec 22, 2021 9:28 am Dune 3 is NKS compatible so that's an advantage for me over Spire. Just saying.

IMO, they all sound different. The closes in the software world might be Sylenth1, even though it doesn't have the beef, and pristine highs that Spire has. I was successful with replicating some Sylenth1 sounds pretty closely in Spire though. They can be both quite punchy and aggressive, which is good. Pigments or Dune don't get nearly as aggressive, and, Massive, I don't know... I never was super excited about Massive's sound. It's a plugin I tried to love, but, never really got to. Massive X is much, much better in my opinion, while having some kind of similar character, I guess. Much more hi-fi, and up to date in terms of filters and overall sound though. Almost a bit too bright, and in your face.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Dec 22, 2021 12:48 pm Could Pigments 3 or Massive (original) be considered closer to Spire in terms of sound? I see. Yeah, it can be a pain to add preset banks.chk071 wrote: Wed Dec 22, 2021 12:57 pmThere used to be an (unofficial) NKS pack for Spire, but, it has been removed. There i would recommend to demo those side by side i think cause pigments is really capable of a lot with its sampler, granular function etc. I like it for sound design but not for more bread and butter sounds. I think spire is faster? And easier on that. But again just my opinion. Pigments is on a good price with lots of capabilities but i think cpu wise is higher than spire? Can someone confirm?LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Dec 22, 2021 12:48 pmThanks for the suggestion. Even I am not much into sound design. It's just that I am missing this kind of synth in my collection. Massive is old but still golden and has a lot of sounds available too. I dunno exactly from my head but massive needs more adjustments to sound fatter? Than spire? But i didnt use it long time. Maybe someone else can chime in

Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah, they do sound different, but I was thinking if Pigments could fill those gaps and I then don't need to bother with Spire. Just trying to keep it simple by going for only one between Dune 3 and Spire. FWIW, I am not looking for a very aggressive sound/hard hitting sound.chk071 wrote: Wed Dec 22, 2021 1:01 pmIMO, they all sound different. Massive X is definitely one of the best in terms of sound, love it.

For VA sounds, I think Spire is much better than Pigments. It doesn't do wavetable though, so, Pigments would be a good complement, especially as it sounds very good for wavetable stuff.
