An actual argument could be a start, but whatever
Not much point to argue over personal preference... as long as I continue to have Bitwig to use, I am a happy camper!

And if you are excited about a virtual hardware recorder type DAW... great! That is why it is good to have lots of options for varied interests

too many IT department types literally apply Windows fixes to Mac issues, and this seems like the case with your guys.
Absolute f**king bullshit. Everyone else in the universe can't be wrong, just so you can be right, and my experience where i work now is no different to the three other networks I worked at, nor at the dozen or more post-production houses where I've worked, nor at the three different colleges where I have taught (although if there was going to be anywhere the techs were useless, it is in tertiary education). Everywhere I have ever worked where there have been Macs, they have created more problems than the PCs I've worked on. Every. Single. Place.
There's a lot more to this than the way you paint it. First off are the networks based on Unix, or Windows Server? Microsoft are flatly notorious for making it ever so slightly more difficult to use other OS with their platforms. This goes the other way as well, everyone I know who works with Unix systems hates dealing with Windows in that environment, because they make it ever so slightly harder to deal with. The fact is people hate when they have to relearn basics after initially mastering a system, so people who start of learning to code on Windows hate dealing with Mac OS. Confirmation bias is a real thing, it's why I don't write off Windows for the times I've dealt with it and been annoyed.

Plus, sorry, you're just not a credible source when it comes to the reliability of macs or anything to do with Apple. You've spent years here flatly stating your hatred of the company, calling the users idiots, pretty much all of it. You can't stop, this thread has zero to do with Mac VS PC, and here you are arguing with me after I asked you to not engage about it, because really, does another thread need to be derailed with you arguing how much worse in your opinion Mac OS is to Windows?
I can agree with that, but .01% of users is one in a thousand, so yeah a lot more than hundreds of users. :hihi:
It's actually one in 10,000 - 1% is 1-100, 0.1% is 1-1,000, 0.01% is 1-10,000.
Yeah my bad but at 1.3 billion installations of Windows 10, that's 130,000 cases, slightly more than a couple hundred. So 130,000 is too small of a number to worry about, got it.

for sure!
btw, my intention was not to "argue" (despite my wording) or "win" or whatever, i'm just really excited about this stuff and love to discuss it, and i have been spending a lot of time thinking about the possibilities of human-machine interaction in a musical context lately. and the airwindows idea seems really feasible/interesting/progressive.

bitwig seems great, i would probably use it if i didn't have reaper.

Prediction - Users will still blame their DAW for still not having found that secret producer sauce and their lack of musical ability.
There are two kinds of people in the world. And you're not one of them.

I have this feeling that plugins for Kontakt have been mentioned in posts more often in 2021 than 2020 and 2019.
Is it more popular or does they have money problem and try to sell more?

I'm just hoping someone will release a super-focussed "techno"-centric virtual studio in the spirit of ReBirth or Arturia Storm, but with current DSP goodness.
Like an Arturia Storm reboot would be interesting now that their Roland stuff is more authentic sounding, and their Spark drum machine is fading. They have the raw materials ripe for repurposing. I'm just not a fan of Arturia's download manager etc, but a really great sounding virtual studio environment might encourage me to be more tolerant there.
I know there are a few virtual studio apps around these days, but none that have Monark level sound.
I suppose I just want Elektron ITB :D

Post

Seeing as this thread is about predictions, I predict that Elektron ITB won't happen in 22.
Bah.

Closest thing I have come across is Drambo on iOS.

Praying that Reaper has comping sorted out.

It makes me sad to use it; the last batch of drums I did with it (real drums, played by a person) nearly killed me.

I have S1 but I'd rather not switch. If it's a question of sanity though...

I don't have a great amount of optimism about it since a good number a user's seem to think it's fine as it is. It isn't fine.
