#TLimiter - does it even work?

Hi All

So I'm at the very last step in mastering my song and added the #TLimiter to my Master Bus (I'm using Waveform Pro 11.5). The overall level was a bit low so I set the Ceiling to -1db and added 3db of Input Gain. But watching the meter, my song was clipping with a True Peak of +1db (I'm using TRacks 5 Meter from IK).

I tried reducing the ceiling but it only stopped clipping when I was at about -12db and then the limiter was kicking in so much I was getting some horrible artifacts which made it unuseable. I tried tweaking the Release and Lookahead but they made little or no difference.

In the end I gave up and settled for a lower overall level than I'd like rather than risk clipping. Really frustrating that the one thing a limiter is supposed to do (limit) doesn't seem to work!

Anyone else have any experience with this plug-in, either the same as me or hopefully more positive?
