Well, your comparison doesn't make sense. Omnisphere and Nexus don't offer demos, they never have, so there is no question about "demo version". Avenger offers demo version and it is pretty outdated, simple as that. So, I don't understand you quoting me on my valid point (it's not really a complaint, just an obvious request from a potential customer). It is not about demo, but demo version.
Well, it has some sense. I was referring to situation where no demo didn't stop you from buying a product, but stale demo version is not acceptable and you cannot make an educated decision.
Please do not take it personally, I'm not trying to insult you. It's just my observation, just wanted to stand on the Vengeance side because for me it's not that big deal in comparison to no demo in Omnisphere, Nexus or others.

No worries, no offence taken or given. My comments only came out of surprise as it was something I did not notice when I downloaded the demo, because as a new user I won't know what the latest version is, but only when I saw the revision history and noticed it has been updated significantly since. I am not making an issue out of this, as you guys might be thinking.

Anyway, all is well. I will try the demo and see how it goes. :tu:

the demoversion should also demonstrate the sounds... and the (contained) factory sounds in the demoversion sound 1:1 like in the new version, so this can already give a good insight if you are interested in how it sounds. Of course there were more synthesis features in later versions.
I also agree regarding the performance factor. The newer version definately runs a bit smoother than the "old" one, especially on Mac

Ok, I will buy it and see if the new version hopefully works.

I just bought and tested version 1.8.2 on my 16" M1 Max MBP. And just like someone else also reported it, I still get crackles in the sound.

All my other plugins are not doing this, so it is definitely Avenger.

What are the next steps? (yeah, I should never buy stuff again if people report problems. That was my mistake)

One quick question: I am using the 1.4.2 demo version. I see that in sample editor there is fade in option available, but no fade out. Am I missing something or the latest version has it?

Figured out that we can set the curve to act like a fade out instead of a fixed point/handle on the top right corner that I was expecting (to compliment the fade in handle).

Support (Rene) is likely to be taking a break being Christmas an all, but usually it's really good. Send him specs and reproducible symptoms - sounds like it's stuff specific to M1 as no issues for me on my ancient MBP or on Windows.

I suspect it depends on the sample buffer size you are using.
Of all my hundreds of plugins, Avenger is the worse at glitches at the sample buffer size I work with (64). (including u-he plugins, so I actually can run lots more u-he plugins in a project than avenger instances)

What sample buffer size are you using @Bla28?

Indeed, Avenger is glitchy as hell. Currently using 128 samples and I currently have 4 Avenger instances in a track that are "behaving fine" at the moment. But we shall see how it goes further.

But I don't trust Avenger at the moment. Think my bread and butter synths will remain to be Serum and Spire.

edit: Increasing the buffer size to 256 samples improves it a bit.

Guess this will be the work around for now, until they rewrite this plugin properly for M1 Pro / Max MBP (as it shouldn't glitch when an entire project is below 20% cpu power).

Many thanks for the tip related to the buffer size.

Finally, Melodic Techno for VPS Avenger has arrived! Manuel Schleis finally delivers for one of his favourite Genres: "Melodic Techno 1" includes everything which is great about music: Fat vintage analog sounds, warm & deep drums, randomized modulations, euphoric melodies, vocals and polyrhythmic arps. Its all here in outstanding quality, utterly inspiring, unexpected, epic! Did we mention you will also get: vocals? Enjoy a complete collection of female, male & arabic phrases. Every EDM, House, Techno or Trance producer should not hesitate one second to get this beast of an expansion pack!

this expansion adds to your library:

142 Avenger presets 30 new drumkits
30 new drumsquences 100 new granular samples
40 new multisamples 40 new osc-shapes
6 new wavetables 148 new arp patterns
Nice

I was thinking on this Christmas day it would be lovely if Vengeance had a free Christmas pack each year with a couple presets from the recent expansions (like they do for Nexus). What say you fellow Avengers? :)

I use 512 samples and even 1024 would be still work-able
128 is quite too less, no wonder that there will be spikes. The CPU has nearly no time to react to the input

I’m struggling to authorise Avenger 1.8 after updating.

I had a previous version running fine under Reason/Windows 10 and now just can’t get it to open. I’ve downloaded the new V-Man and it’s listed as being authorised along with the Factory and Synthstruments content and have downloaded the license key a number of times but still no joy.

I even bought 5 expansions before Xmas which are also listed under V-Man but can’t access any of it.

The instruction manual refers to an old version so unfortunately doesn’t help and I can’t find anything online.

Any help would be appreciated?

Thanks

No crackles or anything funny ever here with Avenger.
96k 32bit float
Buffer at 64

In the meantime if you notice on the bottom of the screenshot I am running opera with 112 tabs (it does not load all of them but there are at least 20-25 loaded at the moment), and also a computer game is on (nba2k22..) I wanted to send a save file to a friend through email... and then it hit me that I have not heard from Vengeance support so I came at KVR to ask if anyone knows how long it takes them to reply.

I read the complaints and threw an SQ patch with the above settings with ASIO4ALL (I did not turn an interface on), with drums plus a 4 note chord playing (maybe not a cpu hungry preset.. it played between 6% and 9% with no issues at all). And this is on my daily use partition of my computer. On my always offline DAW partition there is never ever any sweat with VPS Avenger or any other music software. (I had an issue with Dune3 after the last update but was told to turn the multithreading off and the crackle was gone). Windows 10 user (as much as I dislike this OS for 1000s of valid reasons).

So how long does it take for support to reply?
