Thank you, EvilDragon, you are very kind. May I ask you sincerely if you own a V-Synth or VP-9000 or VariOS?EvilDragon wrote: Sat Dec 18, 2021 11:34 am I know a thing or two about Kontakt's codebase.Tone Machine is using granular. TM2 is using PSOLA. I also have it confirmed with NI.
I think even Kontakt's manual mentions Tone Machine using granular synthesis. Look it up.
As for Variphase, https://gearspace.com/board/showpost.ph ... stcount=16
That said, PSOLA could also be considered a form of granular processing, in a way...
Because I checked it right now. If I use Time Machine (no matter if 1,2 or pro) the fundamental of the vocal phrase is not auto tuned, the base pitch information is not removed.
But Tone Machine is doing that. That is a very important part of VariPhrase, it is a key point, to make a vocal phrase sample playable legato.
That means if I want to achieve this kind of behavior, I have fist to autotune my sample manually.
For example using Waves Tune or Melodyne.
I am very pleased to discuss the topic with you. I purchased a V-Synth GT, one year ago.
The reason was, that I was not so satisfied with the TC-Helicon Perform VE. It has also a vocal phrase synthesizer, but it’s memory capacity is to less. Only 15 seconds of mono audio.
