Is it possible to add an ADSR modulator to tracks with audio files where the envelope is trigerred by the audio and not by midi notes ?

That is what Envelope Follower and its much more advanced sibling - Audio Sidechain - do. They track the volume profile of incoming audio and represent it as modulation signal.

Thanks for the tip, I already use enveloppe follower but I would have expected something better ! It is not as convenient as an ADSR.

Reading your response - "it is not as convenient" - I only now understood the core of your question, i.e. you want an ADSR-type envelope be triggered by audio instead of MIDI. Sorry

I'd use Replacer for that - it will trigger a MIDI note when audio signal crosses certain treshold and release it when it falls below. You can then use that MIDI note to trigger an ADSR envelope:

Native Envelope Follower in Live has Rise & Fall knobs, corresponsing to Bitwig's Attack & Release in both Envelope Follower and Audio Sidechain.

I've dropped into the trips and tricks topic ... FXGrid in mono voices mode, prefx slot: Polarity's MIDI note generator can be triggered from inside the grid, poly modulators detect the triggered notes and done

they can modulate anything inside the FX Grid (still feeling hacky but who cares )

but I remember AL legacy M4L devices had it.
There are other free devices on Cycling ‘74 that have follower envelope with LFO.

Please find them if you can & provide a link. I'm really curious what LFO built in Envelope Follower does. AFAIR they were separate devices, like they are now. And there was MIDI Envelope with ADSR controls, but that's also available now and the same as in Bitwig.

Thanks. None of those have any relation to this topic, though. 2 of them are random modulation generators, 2 are MIDI - triggered: 1 looks like an MSEG and 1 looks like some weird 2SEG.
