Yeah! Just opened VCV Rack a few minutes ago....
Everything is working fine at the moment, project is fully loaded, no crashing. Using the VST version of VCV Rack in Ableton Live, with three instances of Reaktor inside VCV. I am really positively surprised.

The UI improvements have made VCV Rack as nice to use and as stable in a DAW as Voltage Modular which tbh is why I used VM more than VCV as it was crashy and a pain to navigate. Have really enjoyed working in the Rack the last few days and built some decent patches a lot quicker than normal. Because some modules haven't come over to v2 yet I've used some that I haven't used much before and I have to say Hora Detour can make some great sounds with all the modulation on offer if you set it up like this...

Thanks, hadn't seen that mentioned before. Looks like the spiritual successor to veeceevst, smaller selection of internal modules but totally open source etc.WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 12:35 pm There’s also an open source project named Cardinal that wraps the VCV Rack into a plugin.
Not tried it myself as I just bought the VCV Pro, but others may want to check it out.

Is there any VST/dll to download or is it just in development?WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 12:35 pm There’s also an open source project named Cardinal that wraps the VCV Rack into a plugin.

There're VSTs available, work well for me except you can't resize the window currently which is being looked at.wikter wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 8:02 amIs there any VST/dll to download or is it just in development?WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 12:35 pm There’s also an open source project named Cardinal that wraps the VCV Rack into a plugin.

You need an account and be signed into github or the links aren't clickable, not the most obvious links either (bottom of an Acions page).

Are you running the latest build? The VST window size gets saved on a per preset basis as of one of the more recent builds. I just created a default preset in Reaper with the size I want and it recalls at that size.GaryG wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 8:30 amThere're VSTs available, work well for me except you can't resize the window currently which is being looked at.wikter wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 8:02 amIs there any VST/dll to download or is it just in development?WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 12:35 pm There’s also an open source project named Cardinal that wraps the VCV Rack into a plugin.

I haven't tried since before Christmas to be honest, I was talking to ... (dev, gone blank ) a couple of weeks back and he made some progress, getting the resize handle to appear but it did nothing. He said it may be a while before he looked at it again, maybe he has and I missed it (usually get an email). I'll try and check later.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 5:34 pm Are you running the latest build? Unless it's specific to a particular host or something. Works here on Windows and Reaper.GaryG wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 5:47 pmI haven't tried since before Christmas to be honest, I was talking to ... Zero obvious. Zero results...GaryG wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 8:30 amThere're VSTs available, work well for me except you can't resize the window currently which is being looked at.wikter wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 8:02 amIs there any VST/dll to download or is it just in development?WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 12:35 pm There’s also an open source project named Cardinal that wraps the VCV Rack into a plugin.

I'm sure developers know where they host their files, but for sure, they're not aiming on make it available for average users...

You probably just need to create a free GitHub account and then that should show the download options on that link above once you are logged in.wikter wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 6:19 pmZero obvious. Well, it is a pre-release on GitHub so definitely not aimed at average users... once it's stable I'd expect a much clearer download page like other GitHub hosted plugs.

I'll wait for a much clearer release & mature code. VeeSee still works, in fact, i0ve been working in some ensembles with SynC Modular and it's really responsible. That software ran in a Pentium 200 easily...

Had VCV for ages, but only just now discovered the Orca’s Heart sequencer. Very quick way to access some generative sequences you can just stick a slow ticking clock on a sample and hold to change the X and Y algorithms every few bars.

Interesting, I'll give it a try. Thanks.WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 1:53 pm Had VCV for ages, but only just now discovered the Orca’s Heart sequencer.
There is also a handy diagram of the module on his GitHub site. For lazy people like me....
