I could almost (literally) open a shop, with my 4-5 decades worth of 'strange objects to record' obsession/collection, for those similarly inclined.justin3am wrote: Thu Dec 30, 2021 10:01 pmThere is something about approaching any old object as a sound source/modifier, that really appeals to me. I'll just walk around the neighborhood or dig through my garage looking for stuff that could have interesting sonic properties. It's not the same as going shopping at Perfect Circuit or Analog Haven but it's still rewarding when I find something cool. I'm having a bunch of fun with an old metal shelf from the fridge in my garage. Metal blinds are also a hoot.
... sadly, one of the sonic-ally coolest things I finally had to quit carting around with me on my many moves, was a 30" Oscillating Pedestal Fan 'grill':
It sounded similar to a gong, without the 'ong' bit.
