I think people hated the producers (Stock Atkins Waterman) far more than Kylie directly.

Kyle is not to blame. What would you do if you were a hot girl, barely 18, being able to sing and snatched up by some A&R dude from a record company. You probably wouldn't realize where you were in until your second album was out, you've got to read in the tabloids who you are dating today, and you have a $200 a day cocaine habit, keeping you firmer in the record companies grasp than any contract ever could.
