It sounds great, not subtle at all or maybe i gainstaged it too hot. But there are a few of the types to choose from and all of them sounds really natural!

Hi Saverio, would love to hear why there is a 4x limitation. Why not make it possible to go higher to get the last bits of aliasing? I often have only a few tracks and I find it a pity when plugins have a hard limit. Especially for a bus I like to use the best quality possible in later mixing stages were I don't need low latency, to get around endless comparisons whether it makes a difference. I do use 8x or even 16x os with many plugins without any performance problems.

It sound really good. Wouldn't mind to pay for a version with optional very high os.

The circuit around the tube model seems to already equate to a pretty liberal bandpass, and it doesn't change with gain either. not sure what further lowpass/highpass filters would serve to do other than make the bandwidth even narrower. I'd prefer it was more linear to be honest, or if there was an option to choose a different circuit around the tube model that was more linear increasing the places i'd use it. At the mo, i can only see myself using this in parallel, and for sound design shit :shrug:

This is coming by the need of January, I'll add the same tubes with different values of biasing resistors to give them more bandwidth!

I had hoped for an answer, especially when it was asked if there are any questions. Still interested to get some insights why it's limited to 4x os, but I can get over it not knowing. ;-)

Sorry, there is no real limitation apart the fact that i wanted to remove as much controls as possible from the interface so I had to decide how much bandwidth was enough to keep aliasing under -70 / -80 dB when reasonably driven. I found out that 192KHz was enough so I did not went ay higher to keep the CPU load as low as possible.

If I had added the oversample amount control I could have gone up to 16x with our oversampler but i wanted a plugin that sounded good enough by itself without the need to tweak any parameter. so even if you drop it on a 44.1K session it sound good.

While I don't agree with the solution, I understand you point of view. And it's certainly not a bad solution. :-)

Last words related to the topic. I think every non-linear plugin should have manual oversampling control to balance cpu vs. quality needs, I don't see that it make the interface complicated, could be hidden for the advanced user in a context menu.

Especially with you use plugins in a chain, aliasing can add up, so it's nice to have the possibility to stay super clean. I haven't checked Valvola , but many saturators end up with around -40dbfs aliasing when pushed even with 4x OS.

Not having the option feels like the removal of the headphone jack on the ipad to me. :wink:

This desperately needs an output volume control, though. Hitting it seems to lower the volume and you have to compensate with an extra gain utility plugin. Sounds really great though :clap:

Hmm, Version 1.0.1 is pretty much unusable for me in Cubase 11/Win/VST3. Completely kills the audio, leaving just a bit of stutter… is that a known bug?
