It's bad enough with the one activation limit, and say my computer's hard drive dies there goes that activation and my money and license.
In saying that the software is good for what it does, the licencing is anti-consumer.
It makes Emvoiceapp more compelling licence wise, even though it's online.
Sorry, to clarify: You can install a purchased copy of SVS Pro on only one machine at a time. On the same machine, you can activate it any number of times. There's an activation/deactivation submenu for SVS Pro and your voicebanks built right into the program, which is more convenient than VOCALOID's standalone activation app.

From this post on the official Synthesizer V forums, it looks like the maximum number of activations without deactivating is (3):
https://forum.synthesizerv.com/t/topic/2425

From the AHS Synthesizer V FAQ page:
https://www.ah-soft.com/synth-v/sp/index.html#faq

I want to reinstall and reactivate it on the same PC.
You can reinstall the software as many times as you want on the same PC. However, if you want to reinstall the OS, recover the system, or remove or replace the hard disk or LAN card that has been set as the activation (registration) device, you will need to deactivate and then reactivate (register) the license. If you wish to do so, please de-register the license beforehand.

I bought a new PC and want to reinstall it.
If you want to move to a different PC, you need to deactivate your license from your old PC. Please use the deactivate function in "Synthesizer V Studio Pro" to deactivate your license from your old PC.
Here's more info from the paper license in my physical copy of SVS Pro:
異なるPC環境から複数回インストールすると、アクティベーション可能回数を超えてしまいインストールが行えなくなります。PCを買い換えるなどして他のPCにインストールを行う場合は、予めソフトウェアからディアクティベーション(解除)を行ってください。

If you install the software multiple times from different PC environments, the number of possible activations will be exceeded and installation will become impossible. If you want to install the software on another PC, for example, by buying a new PC, deactivate the software beforehand.
As for Eleanor's weird $1000 limit, yeah that's not great at all. Such an odd restriction for a type of synthesis that struggles to be taken seriously by music makers.

I should post other licenses when I buy new vbs.

Man was I hyped when they posted their proof of concept demo years ago! So clear compared to what we had been getting for Vocaloids! I still love the vibe of it:
https://soundcloud.com/emvoice/demo

And then the real product came out and well, I had thought it was going to offer more complex synthesis? Have they opened up parameters to the user? Emvoice redid the demo with Lucy, and the "performance" isn't all that different :/ It has a distinctive "baked in" sound.
https://soundcloud.com/emvoice/take-me-away

I'm still curious to see what's in store for them, tho!

Post

Interesting comparison. The first version sounds really interesting, with that smokey, processed alto voice!

The second one with Lucy (I take it the first one is a different voice altogether?) is so 'meh' in the preteen girl mould. I'm so glad I didn't buy into Emvoice. I agree completely about a 'baked in' sound.
If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Post

The second one is a cleaner voice. No flanging as in the first.
But it's hard to compare two different productions.

Thanks for clearing up the install limits.
I have Maki AI English license I have to stick that voice pack at the moment because of the more liberal license. (and I have the full V Synth license also)

I have also brought Eleanor Forte AI sadly, I do like the voice.
I will shoot an email Anicute/Volor to clear up the license $1000USD limit, if not I will force a refund.
I do have an Emvoice Lucy license, while it's not as tweakable as V Studio it is still very good, but you need constant internet connection sadly.

Also, should Emvoice cease trading for any reason, Lucy is g-g-gone.

Please keep us updated. I'm interested in Elanor Forte but won't buy if there are further financial agreements for commercial work in using lyrics generated by her voice only.

Also thank you for the tip on constant internet connection for Emvoice. Too bad.

 I was referring less to the audio quality/timbre of the artificial voice, and more to the way that Emvoice (to me) outputs sonically repetitive performances no matter the vb or who's using it. This isn't a dismissal of the hard work and craftsmanship of its userbase; it's an observation about Emvoice's constraints, which (to me) feel purposeful. Emvoice's
own KVR page touts their "deeply sampled human vocal performances – no synthesis or physical modelling".

After mulling it over, I think...a more fair analogue for Emvoice One is not Synthesizer V or VOCALOID--it's Band-In-A-Box. An Emvoice vb is a single pristine, canned, stylistically fixed performance that is fitted into a song, like a BIAB asset.

Which is not to say that it's bad! Enthusiasts praise its clarity and voice types. Anyway if ppl want to talk more about Emvoice, KVR has a dedicated thread right here.

Same as @VitaminD's request, @MJACau, if it's OK? I really want to know if using the voice without the avatar can trigger fees.

I'm not interested in buying Emvoice things.
I do keep an eye on this Synthesizer V. I have too many new plugins to learn and will wait some time with new expenses and learn time.

I've never been a fan of Vocaloids.. the anime stylings are not really my thing, and the vocals always sounded really synthetic. However, I listened to the demo for Solaria and went straight over to pre-order!

I'm often in writing sessions where there's no proper vocalist (at least of the required gender, etc). It feels like the technology is getting good enough to use for a reference track - even if we get a session vocalist to do the final demo to pitch to an artist. Or even just putting something together in my apartment at 3 in the morning.. this is really exciting!

I have emailed them but it's the weekend so...
All I can suggest if any one is has interest in Eleanor Forte AI (or any VOLOR product) is to email VOLOR (volor@animen.com.tw) and (eshop@animen.com.tw) and ask about this section of the license for themselves:
