This "free" keys usually are stripped down version of the software and are aimed to make customers interested in their full software, so probably you are making to the companies a favour letting other people take an interest in their products; and you also paid this key within the price of the magazine, so, owning one key, you probably can make "what you want" with it (obvioulsy, not literally). But in the end this is only my thought, probably I'm wrong and I don't have "legally" clue if what I said makes sense.chk071 wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 5:43 pm No, you gifted it to a guy who never bought the mag, without even knowing whether or not you are supposed/allowed to give it away. Regardless of whether you or I think it's not the worst crime or offense of all time, it is surely not in compliance with the terms of the software of the mag.

These two cases aren't the same.chk071 wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 4:19 pmImagine one guy would buy the mag, and gift the magware plugins to every user in the world.ThSProd wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 3:47 pm I mean, if the magazine contains a cd and you gift the cd to someone, you don't have the cd that you paid with the magazine anymore; it's the same for a key.

Important note: If you are NOT in the US, do NOT buy Steinberg products from Sweetwater. It is highly likely you won't get your license (of course you will get a refund).GMusic wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:00 pm40% off Wavelab and Grooveagent is also available on Steinberg's site and Sweetwater:LoveEnigma18 wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 7:14 am Why was my Steinberg sale information post removed?I had just put quotes around the sale text, I did not quote or chat with anyone. Ridiculous. Anyway, here it is again:
Steinberg New Year Deals - 40% Off Groove Agent 5, Wavelab Elements and Wavelab Pro!
Valid through February 4, 2022.

Additionally, Cubasis and some instruments such as Backbone are on sale on Steinberg's site:
https://www.steinberg.net/promotion/
I am not in the US and I tried to buy Cubase Elements in the past. My order did not go through and they said Steinberg has put some restrictions on them to sell their licenses only in US. So, my order was cancelled and I was refunded. This is despite it being an electronic/download delivery.
I will never ever buy anything from Sweetwater.

It doesn't matter. Giving it away and giving it away are not two different things.chrisstiles wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:00 pmThese two cases aren't the same.chk071 wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 4:19 pmImagine one guy would buy the mag, and gift the magware plugins to every user in the world.ThSProd wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 3:47 pm I mean, if the magazine contains a cd and you gift the cd to someone, you don't have the cd that you paid with the magazine anymore; it's the same for a key.
Here is the part of the terms and conditions of the FileSilo site where the CM content is hosted, which I think is relevant for the software:
TBH, I'm surprised we have to discuss it that long. What's so different about magware than with payware that you guys think it can just freely be distributed? Just because the content only costs as much as one issue of the mag?The copyright in all content contained on, in, or available through the service is owned by or licensed to Imagine Publishing Ltd. Even freeware has terms of usage. For reasons which may or may not be so obvious.

who is advocating freely distributing magware? What's so different about magware than with payware that you guys think it can just freely be distributed?
direct serials were originally posted, but within a few posts several methods of access to the same software via free and legal methods of reading the magazines were presented.
Unless you can point to anything that proves that is not the case, but when I looked I didn't see anything in the website, magazines or the software EULA's that discriminates access to the software based on having purchased the magazine vs having legally read the magazine via a "free" service like libbyapp etc.

As their Quadra was only out a few weeks my guess is that they discounted the wrong synth, probably meant to be their Jupiter 4 clone.lumcas wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 9:42 pmDoesn't work for me either, back to $37.58. Plugin Alliance doesn't usually allow the stacking of any "cash" vouchers -- monthly, survey, subscription. You would need to have separate transactions to use each voucher.dream22 wrote: Fri Jan 07, 2022 1:12 am Is it just me or does the P-A Survey voucher not stack with $25 monthly voucher? Anyone know if it stacks with monthly $50 or $75 voucher?

PA voucher from emails and loyalty vouchers do stack, isn't it?
