It was fine on the 13" M1 MBP I used it on, before I returned the machine. It's fine on my 14" ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14.kxmmeron wrote: Fri Dec 24, 2021 1:46 am Anyone here using Studio One on a 14" MacBook Pro M1 Pro/Max? I currently have a 2019 16 inch MBP that I am looking to swap out in February & I'm curious about whether or not 14" inch is enough screen real estate for this. I really want the portability of the 14" but now second guessing if I should just get the 16" instead after using my 2019 a bit more recently. Thank you!
macOS defaults to scaled resolution, so if you want more screen real-estate you can go into settings to set it to native resolution. Things will get smaller. Studio One has areas where text is pretty small. This is the case even on larger displays. Not much you can do about that (even a 15" MBP at native resolution, you'd notice this).
Beyond that, it should be fine.
I also agree, go for the 14".
15.6/16" Laptops are pretty big, and the smaller sizes have gotten overpowered, now. Before, it was worth going with a bigger laptop because the smaller versions usually got ULV CPUs, no dGPU, etc. This was especially true for MacBooks pre-M1. This has all changed in the past few years - for both Windows and macOS notebooks.
