MSoundFactory Sampler Octave Shift

I am creating an instrument using third party Zither samples. This sample set has fingerboard and accompanyment samples and the notes overlap. In order to play the accompanyment on the keyboard, i need to shift the accompaniment samples down by two octaves on the keyboard, but without shifting the pitch of the notes.
I have changed the accompaniment sample filenames to give the, octave shifted, key and keyname and have imported by filename. However, the filenames are accepted when filtered by *_{keyname}-{key}, but the samples are still put into regions detected by pitch.
I have tried both with and without a -2 octave offset, but with no change.
I tried dragging the regions down by two octaves, but MSoundFactory dutifully dropped the keyboard and the notes by two octaves, as of course it should do!
I can work around the problem by having two separate instruments and pitch-shifting one in the DAW, but this is a tedious cludge.

oups. too fast thinking again ... I thought it would be possible to have a cent-shift of formants, but that is of course not possible. But a per voice modulation would definitively make sense.
