I left it at default and didn't think of it, but you're right, that's bullshit. Just do default Application support like a normal person arturia, going to root library is weird af.

In the Software Centre you can specify where you want the plugins to install ... same with downloads. In the menu under your user name go to preferences/folders

Again, installer gave a choice but didn't accept my choice (NB: I've a reason for it) with an explanation I don't respect. No, I did not spend yet more time looking for a workaround. I have a coherent m.o. as to directories and rather keep it that way, and this seems like they don't quite grok Mac OS. I was curious, though, and this cured that and saved space.

I know you can change it but the default is just bizarre. Out of 250 plugins i have installed none had that default

Then there’s also the synthwave genre. Basically retro/vintage is in right now.

This has been stated continually for the last 20+ years. Synthesizers were defined in the 70s and 80s, so "retro" will probably *always* be in when it comes to synthesizer-based music. In the same way that a Les Paul will always be a revered and sought after tool for guitar-based music.

Many thanks to Arturia for another nice freebie, but I wished that if you were “forced” to use a software manager that it would let you actually “manage” the software, like choose what plugin formats to install (don’t need VST2 and especially not AAX…). Though Arturia are not alone with that, NI and XLN and several others do the same. IK usually get all the flak for installing plugins you don’t want, but at least they let you chose the format.

Could someone help. I have the Arturia software centre and it shows this plug in as registered, but I don't see any option to install. It doesn't appear to have done so either because it's not showing up in Reaper at all. How do i get this?

Hover with the mouse over Mello-Fi in ASC, click on "Product details", a sidebar on the right opens, click on "install".

There is no install option. There is an uninstall option. but I have no idea where the program is if it has indeed installed

In the location you set up in the Arturia Software Center settings. If you didn't change it, in the default location which is visible in the settings.

Now it's showing as ready to install.

In my 5-minute spin, appears to have a very similar feature set to Audiothing Reels, which I prefer.
