ARM Cortex A9 dual-core CPU at 800MHz it is not enough powerfulSynthack wrote: Tue Jan 11, 2022 7:53 am I think this idea is awesome, i for one and interested in seeing where it goes.
I've seen the use of FPGA in this old gaming project called MiSTer where they are essentially using FPGAs to mimic the workings of many different vintage computers and consoles.
You can find out more about this here https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki
Anyhow It uses both a FPGA and a ARM processor together and works really well. I wonder if in the future it could be ported to something like it?
That would be amazing..

They will be added in the next release, we just wanted to get this current version out quickly for people to try so you will find the odd thing missingFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Tue Jan 11, 2022 3:53 amHow come this version of the GUI has some controls on the left (Channel Level and Channel Pan) that the one I downloaded from the Discord is missing? I don't see an update that includes those.db3 wrote: Mon Jan 10, 2022 3:25 pmThe version available from Discord already has a much better functioning GUI. This one as shown before:chk071 wrote: Mon Jan 10, 2022 2:09 pm Yes.
Even though the VST version already has a GUI, but, it's a temporary one, where you have to scroll through hundreds of parameters to find the one you're looking for. The new one will be much more like a typical plugin GUI, as has been shown on the last few pages.![]()
Note: using the VST2 Win x64 build here.

Are you referring to a tinnitus-like 14KHz sine wave hum? Could be a glitch between the plugin and your soundcard.OrionAlpha101 wrote: Mon Jan 10, 2022 3:26 pm Like I said before I've got the feeling that the output of the real synth has a limiter or something?
Some frequency in the emulator kills your ears that never happened in the hardware.
(But I can understand that some amateurs here do not notice.
Is this is your language here i only have good ears)

My guess is that the resampling does not work as expected. You should use the same samplerate as the original virus did use internally (my guess is 96Khz?).arkmabat wrote: Tue Jan 11, 2022 10:39 amAre you referring to a tinnitus-like 14KHz sine wave hum? My Nord Micro Modular uses the same chipset as the Virus and did run with 96Khz.

The ROMs of the synthesizers are copyrighted material. The website is distributing them without the permission of the copyright holders (Access, Clavia, Waldorf, etc). That's why they could have sent a DMCA takedown request or taken legal actionstq wrote: Tue Jan 11, 2022 11:45 am The EPROM archive seems to be offline (service unavailable). Hm, coincidence?

The MAME project is perfectly legal, and people still procure the ROM files themselves. Nothing's wrong with it, as long as no commercial activity is being made with these ROM files.
Of course such procurement is bound to owning the original hardware, thus only serving as a backup. You own the hardware, you sold the hardware, you bought 2nd hand hardware, you get it.

No, but I doubt that this CPU will handle above 108 MIPs in the test toolSynthack wrote: Tue Jan 11, 2022 11:23 amDid you actually look at how Mister works ?carrieres wrote: Tue Jan 11, 2022 10:27 amARM Cortex A9 dual-core CPU at 800MHz it is not enough powerfulSynthack wrote: Tue Jan 11, 2022 7:53 am I think this idea is awesome, i for one and interested in seeing where it goes.

14KHz sine wave hum ,it sounds like this sometimes on different patches and a very high frequency.
The audio interface is good.
