Time and key signature bug?

I wanted to change the timeline ruler to show 6/8 time. Clicking on the number of beats in the toolbar brings up a list (the number of beats from 1 to 16). But when I attempt to do the same, to change the (bottom) note value number, no such list appears. I tried holding down the "Ctrl" key, but it worked only once. So I managed to change the time signature to 6/8, but now I'm unable to change it back to 4/4. The bottom figure is stuck on 8. Have I encountered a bug, or am I overlooking something?

I also played around with the key signature, changing it from C major to G major. But I cannot change it back to C as that key is no longer listed in the pop-up menu.

Below are the steps I used. I could not find the topic in the manual, which sadly has no index. Can somebody point out what I might be overlooking?

1. Press "F11" key to expand toolbar.
2. Click on current time signature (right of BPM field) -> click on number of beats value -> select 6 from the list.
3. Click on time signature again -> click on the note value figure (after the /)
-> ?

Never mind, I stumbled onto the fact that if an item fails to appear in a pop-up menu, the mouse scroll wheel can be used to bring it into view.

Although the manual has no index, as it's a PDF document you can use CTRL+F (Windows) to open the Find window and then enter the name of the topic you are searching for. I may be stating the obvious but useful if you didn't know!

Thanks for the kind reminder. My PDF editor includes a search feature that works nicely, and I am able to find items in PDF files that do have an index. Maybe Tracktion will add one in the future as expanding the topics in the Table of Contents and looking through the chapters can be quite a labor. One developer refers to joining sections of a track as "Concatenation," another employs the term "Merge." Tracktion opts for "Heal." An index would be very helpful.
