Hi Urs or Howard
How would I set up a template for ACE to setup similar functionality to a Prophet 5, yes I do have The Repro's and Diva and Zebra as well as the HZ dark zebra and Hive and Bazille but I was wondering if it it is functionally possible and if can have guidance on it.. sometimes I wish I can get a "cookbook" for ACE
regards

ACE can be wired up to do some things a Prophet can, but it's not a Prophet. For instance, can you do a Polymod LFO that's a combination of Saw, Square and Triangle waveforms routed to filter? I don't think ACE allows for that (or any kind of Polymod that I'm aware of). And what you're trying to might would require different routings (unplug this, plug that in, combine these two things, etc.).

That's why I have asked Howard here if he is willing to help as doing something like this is a bit beyond my level of sound designFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Jan 12, 2022 6:49 pm ACE can be wired up to do some things a Prophet can, but it's not a Prophet. The manual is a decent starting point. But why would you want to try to make Ace a P5 (especially since you already have Repro)? Totally different architecture, filters, envelopes, etc.surreal wrote: Wed Jan 12, 2022 7:04 pmThat's why I have asked Howard here if he is willing to help as doing something like this is a bit beyond my level of sound designFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Jan 12, 2022 6:49 pm ACE can be wired up to do some things a Prophet can, but it's not a Prophet. Ace is Lighter on CPU cycles and seeing that cannot activate ni pro 53 on windows 10 anymore if figured that ACE would be a suitable Prophet 5 replacement esp on the prophet type pads and leads as Repro5 chews my CPU for breakfast...tony10000 wrote: Wed Jan 12, 2022 7:32 pmThe manual is a decent starting point. I read a long time ago that hans zimmer asked Howard to do a set of prophet inspired patches for the Dark Zebra for a function that he was gonna jam at.. I dunno if howard ever did something like that though

I understand that Repro 5 in particular is very CPU hungry. Oversampling and detailed circuit modeling due take their toll on a CPU. You can limit polyphony and use shorter envelope release times to reduce CPU usage. That said, I don't believe that you will be able to get Ace to sound like a Prophet 5. Not even close.surreal wrote: Wed Jan 12, 2022 8:16 pmAce is Lighter on CPU cycles and seeing that cannot activate ni pro 53 on windows 10 anymore if figured that ACE would be a suitable Prophet 5 replacement esp on the prophet type pads and leads as Repro5 chews my CPU for breakfast...tony10000 wrote: Wed Jan 12, 2022 7:32 pmThe manual is a decent starting point. My Prophet-10 R4 sounds like RePro-5 and uses next to no CPU. Wasn't cheap though.

My huh wasn't " i don't get it" it was why in the world. It's such a leap. But you certainly are welcome to ask the question as i am certainly welcome to "huh?" It's all in good fun.
