Mmh... I'd probably recommend Zebra CM, if it should be free/magware. As a bonus, you get all the other magware on an issue of CM as well.
Don't want to sound snobby, but, I'd think about if messing with free stuff in general makes sense. I personally regret that I wasted my time with freeware so long, before starting to buy stuff. There's so much quality payware out there that it's worth a consideration saving up, and getting payware from the start. IMO, the best of the best isn't found in the "free" domain.

Cherry Audio makes crazy-cheap synths that are very much worth the (modest) money. Recommended. And they have a bunch of synths that are "new" this year.
For example, PS-20 is US$30 which is highway @#$^ing robbery. It's great. I am not saying it sounds like an authentic MS-20. It does not. But for how much it costs, you will get MILES of value out of it.

You misspelled "demean, bemoan, and demand instant improvements on".

How new? Both Odin 2 and Vital were released in 2020 and are excellent free synths. (Well, Vital has paid versions too). They're streets ahead of any freeware from years ago (and better than stuff that I paid for too).

No mention of Surge https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/ yet? That's a great free synth.

I’ve been impressed with Minipol : https://karanyisounds.com/product/minipol/
And Bleass Alpha: https://www.bleass.com/alpha/
I know I picked them up for pretty cheap on sale.
I have really enjoyed using both.

Surge XT, then. It's so new, it's not even yet properly released yet, but the nightly builds are said to be very stable.Introspective wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 1:42 amOP specifically asked for new.bagpipe200 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 1:30 am No mention of Surge https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/ yet?
