No, not in Cubase as far as I'm aware. But you can send MIDI from several MIDI tracks to one VST track, hosting a multi-timbral plugin (like Kontakt, Falcon, etc.).
^^^ without some third-party solution, only MIDI sends can be used https://steinberg.help/cubase_pro_artis ... nds_r.html

should set these two params only
MIDI Send Destination
Allows you to determine to which MIDI output the processed MIDI events are sent.

MIDI Send Channel
Allows you to determine on which MIDI channel the processed MIDI events are sent.
also this is how can be sent MIDI data to the VST effects too in the mixer

ps. ... and from Artist only ... sad

Given I have been using the Cubase dongle for over 20 years now, I really have no problem with it. It just works. I'm apprehensive about being dongle less. Lets hope it is the magic bullet others think it is and no a complete mess up and doesn't get hacked in the first week.

Back to plot. I am a pro user, but my writing partner used Elements for years, before I talked him into getting Artist. (he won't go pro).
We swap files between the version and have not yet had any issues. (other than an occasional file he saves, won't open on his system, so he sends it to me, I open it, fix it and send it back to him).

The main problem we have is the lack of panning options on Elements / Artist, so we have to use a third party plugin. Not sure why the extra panning options are deemed Pro.

In Cubase Pro you may assign MIDI channel per note in Key Editor, so w. the channel = Any, one event/part may speak to several instruments discretely in a multi

Bitwig does that too. Even better, you can have those 16 instruments on that same track. If you'd really want, you could fit whole song on one track in Bitwig :)

Oh, I just realised that since I registered Cubase Elements 11 few weeks ago I should be eligible for v12 upgrade! :o :hyper:

Nice :tu:

Any info on the date? It was supposed to come out "soon after Dorico"?
