This is awesome, so happy that someone finally emulated this hardware!
I have a Context 2 reverb pedal and I love the “granular” mode on which is based on this unit. I’m happy to now have this as an in-the-option and way more in-depth parameters to tweak.
Very nice price for Polaris owners, thanks Luca!

Very interesting. Just downloaded the demo but need to go out.
I want to put this up against things like Cubases Multitap, Echoboy and Ultratap in terms of the kind of "reverb" I'm looking for.

Theres another thread on "lazy developers". Why bring that up here? Because Eventide has a Space Station plugin in their vault from Princeton Digital since the mid 2000s. They've updated other Princeton Digital TDM specific things, but its their loss for not seizing the opportunity here. Thank you Audiority!

I've started (a bit silently) streaming on Twitch. Every now and then I'll make some livestream noodling with our plugins.
Here's one using the Space Station with the Moog DFAM and Mother 32

Enjoy!

Interesting - the plugin sounds more muddy to me, with the hardware clearer, crisper and brighter - as if it needs to have the EQ engaged on the plugin.
What did you think?

I was looking at Gearslutz and Luca (?) the developer seems to be looking into various parts of his emulation for possible improvement. I got it dirt cheap because I previously owned Polaris, so I'm not quite as picky as some. It's good imho. I discovered the HQ button on the GUI, which makes a difference. If it gets improved even further, I'll go from being happy, to being happy.

Yes, the plugin is a bit darker than the original. Most of that is because the original hardware has quantization noise which we didn't want. Since the gain stages inside the hardware has been done in a way that the signal will never overload the converter, we decided to spare some CPU, since the final result is still very close. As you can see on the frequency chart posted earlier, the hardware (blue graph) has some more energy around the end of the device bandwidth. Using more coefficients for the high order filter brings a better result, but the CPU usage becomes too much. The faster workaround would have been using IRs to make this plugin, but that would have been cheating to me. I model these units mainly to learn electronics and every one is a challenge. There's room for improvements tho. In fact I'm improving the feedback path as we speak and I'll expose an internal control to set the behavior of the Feedback knob. This improves the matching with the original unit a LOT and, on the other hand, will give users the chance to revert back to how v1.0 sounds.
Cheers,
Luca

thanks for the reply. I think switching to HQ got the sound closer to what I am looking for - while emulation is fine it's the particular sound I want that is more important.
With HQ on it's sounding different from what I already have.

Please, bear in mind that what you are hearing now with HQ mode enabled is wrong. We have been notified of a bug where the frequency response of the plugin changes when HQ is enabled and this is not intended.

Looking forward to test this one!
