If I'm mixing a project within Studio One on my Mac Mini, I can take reverbs, delays, and other effects that are on my Macbook and put them on the Sends/returns in my Mac Mini, therefore lightening the CPU load on my Mac Mini?
Yes it is indeed possible. You will just have to use another DAW or a simple host application such as Patchwork, to host the plug-ins on the Macbook.

Hello there,
As per your website:
"A special introduction offer applies for newcomers (20% off until February 20th), and an exclusive existing customer offer is on the way. Enjoy!"
Q: Have you already sent the exclusive offer to existing customers? I'm still waiting...
Thank you!

This was an instant buy for me but I have to say that I have a hard time using it successfully. My main use would be to have one central DAW but also be able to use all instruments of other DAWs and integrate the output into the main DAW. I.e. send midi from Studio One to Logic Pro (or Mainstage) for using Alchemy and pipe the Alchemy audio back into Studio One. I find this hard to setup since not every DAW provides to possibility to place your plugins in the signal path wherever you would like to. I would appreciate concrete examples in the manual or on video, how to connect different DAWs with one another.

All DAWs are indeed not created equal...! There is unfortunately no magic. We'll try to add more tutorials in the future, but we unfortunately cannot cover all possible combinations! Also, if you end up using too many connections all over the place, it will be as messy as a good old analog studio with tons of cables! :-)

Well, this is especially useful for DAW-bound instruments that can't be hosted as plugins elsewhere because they don't follow a standard plugin format (e.g. in Vienna Ensemble Pro) like the ones of Ableton Live or Logic Pro / Mainstage. Some guidelines would be very helpful. I found it hard to get it working even on the same Mac/PC.

Hi not sure if this should be a separate post or a reply in this thread...

I'm trying to connect 2 stereo channels from one app to another on the same machine. Mac-Catalina-ProTools into Luna. PT using a separate interface from Luna.

Two instances of the plug within PT, set to "broadcast" to two different port numbers. When I try to set up the "receiving" instances in Luna, it won't let me enter the separate port numbers, if I change one it automatically changes the other to the same thing. As far as I can see this is the only way the Connector plug-in can select one stream or the other. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

thanks for any response--Kevin

I have been experimenting with the networking functionality of Connector and wanted to report the following and request some help. I have mainly been trying to send audio and midi between Cubase on one PC, and Live and Bitwig on another PC.

The good news is that in my experience the passing of both back and forth between applications audio works well, and is easy to set up. Audio directed to ‘send’ appeared at the ‘receive’ connector on the networked PC without issue as soon as I set it up.

The bad news is that I can’t get the flow of midi from Cubase to Live/Bitwig working at all. A part of the problem is that when you load an instance of Connector in Live or Bitwig, additional midi input or output ports do not appear. When you load Connector in Cubase, the Connector midi ports do appear so it is clear where the midi should be routed to and from. the Cubase send of midi to connector appears to working fine, but I simply cannot get midi out of Connector in Live or Bitwig no matter how I try, even though Connector reports that it has connected to the Cubase PC. Any guidance Blue Cat or anyone else can offer would be welcomed.

You have to place the BC connector before the instrument. Not all DAWs allow this. Reaper is able to do this. For example in Ableton Live I used two tracks - one midi track with BC connector for sending Midi out to a VSTi track in Reaper and another audio track in Live with BC connector to route the audio back from Reaper into Live. On the Reaper side I created a track with 2 BC connectors and the VSTi. The first BC connector has to be placed before the VSTi - this one receives Midi from Ableton Live. The second BC connector is placed after the VSTi and sends the audio back to Ableton Live. I wasn't successful with Midi routing regarding Logic yet. Frankly it might be easier to use a separate program for creating virtual Midi ports and use BC connector only for routing back the audio from another DAW. This should work with any DAW.

Thanks! It's my strongest recommendation that you make a video tutorial for this as a lot more people have better retention for videos over text. Anyway, I'm going to get on this right now!

Intrigued by this plug in and hoping it will help me create a "decay delay loop" in Cakewalk, (can't seem to route a loop in it) and was wondering if anyone might have ideas in using the Connector as a "decay delay loop" ala the linked episode #73 of ITL...

I'm able to make a loop with Connector but it seems to turn to "mono stereo", (for lack of better term) rather than staying a decaying ping pong.

Thoughts/Ideas?
Thank you...

Post

What I currently have that gets the most delays so I get a Left, Right, Left before it stops...

Original Vox>>Mono DLY Left: 1/4 Note Dly No Feedback>>Instance of Blue Connector/App RCV Only Thru Lvl 100%/Rcv Lvl 60%

Original Vox>>Mono DLY Right: 1/2 Note Dly No Feedback>>FX>>Instance of Blue Connector App SEND Only Thru Lvl 70%/Rcv Lvl 100%

if I finalize the loop, (between to two instances) it doesn't stay a clean fading ping pong. If I try a channel send the ping pong starts to collapse as well.

Update! Might have found the solution to what I want to do in Blue Cat's Late Replies plug in...
