Reason has always intrigued me tbh. How well does it handle VST btw? Is it flawless or what?

Yeah, they work well. But - for now - it only supports VST2 (no AU or VST3) and does not support MIDI FX plugins that output MIDI (Scaler, Captain Plugins, Cthulu, etc.).

Thanks antic604 So you could not insert, lets say a filter plugin which has a midi input to drive the internal envelope, or am i wrong? I'm only giving an example here mind you

No, that works just fine. Only VST plugins that OUTPUT midi don't work, although some of them - e.g. Scaler I think? - let you drag the MIDI clip out and that works.

Well, there is that, but also no Apple silicone native support on the horizon either
Btw; I do most of my music production in Logic, but also Cubase Pro and Ableton live suite 11 - both soon to be updated to M1 native (Live beta already is).

No, there is not - and I agree it's a total pain in the ass. Really glad Ableton Live has it.

Considering I don't do a lot of program changing mid arrangement (I just add a new track for a new sound, ha) I find I don't need MIDI chase. Occasionally, if I am using dynamics in a instrument (such as the modwheel on my strings during an orchestral piece) I might miss it...a bit.

Once you use MIDI chase, it’s hard to go back. Makes production so much easier - and not just for drones. Basically anything that involves pads or long samples - it’s lovely.

Me neither. I understand that it can be very useful though.

Does Studio One have it? Can't find it in the documentation.
