is this a feature or a bug? If i save a new version of an edit, any changes i make to one of them gets applied to the other one. At least as it pertains to tweaks i make with plugins and instruments

That shouldn't happen. Unless the plugin is loading some shared samples / instrument files. Can you provide some steps to reproduce?

There is definitely edit quantum entanglement.
1. Create new edit. Add MIDI clip and instrument. Save and close.
2. Open that new edit. Save as with new filename.
3. Re-open first edit alongside second.
4. Move MIDI clip in one of them. It moves in both edits. Same goes for moving the instrument.

Surely there must be consensus by now...

Ok, thanks, I can reproduce. When you open the first edit again, it's actually opening the second edit again. If you close both edit s and reopen, then it works. I'll add that to our bug tracker.
