Synthmaster - why is it so cheap sold?

You could ask them to do that, and feel better about both buying a synth with a better name and paying a better price for it? Win/win.

It's an incredibly good synth though. If anyone is reading this and wants a new synth to play with and doesn't already have Synth master they should probably buy it. I bought the "everything" bundle and it's great.

I'm gonna give my 2 cents really quick since I really like your synth and I personally would like to see you be as successful as possible: from a marketing perspective, I'd wipe the slate semi-clean and call it "SynthM 3" for v3. Tagline it something like "Synthmaster evolved" or something similar that lets people know it's heritage. Debut the name change with a short teaser that teases a new feature. Teaser should be kind of abstract and have some really cool sound design. Blast this to all the music production/gear websites with a press release, as well as make threads on a bunch of forums. Get the hype machine going while at the same time making sure people know the new name is just the newest, upgraded version of Synthmaster. I'd update the styling on the website to look more sleek and modern too, maybe a dark theme.

Basically try to make a new first impression to those thrown off by the name or other aesthetics (which is sadly really important even when trying to sell things that should ideally be thought of as functional) . Make it feel classier. I'd up the price to $129 or possibly $150 if the new marketing/name/aesthetics AND the new synth features are all really well orchestrated.

One thing to consider is the excellent entry level qualities (including the pricing) Synthmaster delivers. When I started using softsynths, I did some research on how to get the most bang for my buck --- and the Synthmaster family was one of my first purchases mainly because of the price tag. I've been using it for the last five years and am still using it (not exclusively any more). However, at 150 bucks, I would not have purchased it. It might be a good idea to have an option in the portfolio for those who want both the quality and the low price tag. Having something between the 5 bucks for Player (when on sale) and the 150 might draw more people into the ecosystem.

We will continue selling SynthMaster 2 at $99 price point, it doesn't make any sense to stop doing that and force prospective customers to choose between SynthMaster One and SynthMaster 3.

So, we'll have 3 synths to choose from (apart from the Player):

SynthMaster One: $79
SynthMaster 2: $99
SynthMaster 3: $149

When we release SynthMaster 3, we'll add a table on our website showing the differences/similarities between the 3 options, to make it easy to understand for prospective users.

I like SynthMaster better. Calling that simplified and still different synth SynthMaster One was confusing, but SynthPrentice would have been even more questionable…;-)

SynthM sounds way cheaper than SynthMaster. Reminds me of Synth1 - you can’t get cheaper than that…

Those devs who ever answered such questions regretted it always. They just tell you they work on it…
If you love what you have just keep loving it…
Sometimes there are public betas, but that would be in a very advanced state…
I think we wait already more than a decade for Zebra 3. And Zebra 2 doesn’t even have MPE. Synthmaster is quite complete already…

I made it clear a couple of times here on kvr about what the new features in v3 will be:

1. Multiple layers (up to 16)
2. Flexible routing inside layers with 4 osc, 4 mod, 4 fx, 4 filters.
3. Granular synthesis
4. Wavetable editor
5. Sample editor
6. Sample library with acoustic instruments & vocals

I also have plans for more/better FX, but I don't think we'd have time for that.
