If you had to stick to one DAW - and ONLY its native 1st party devices + sounds - which one would it be?

Yeah... Logic is exceptional as a complete package with nothing else available.Serhii Kot wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 4:05 pm It is Logic of course. Good allrounder. Plenty of instruments with decent sound quality, plenty of synths, and good collection of FXs. No brainer really.
Logic has Alchemy. It's an incredible synth. Nothing like it in most DAW's. It has spectral and additive resynthesis (and with high quality which sounds great), granular, multi-samples, morphing, etc. etc. Sculpture is still one the best physical modeling synths available today.
Logic also has Auto-Sampler. Drum Machine Designer, the new Sampler and a bunch of high quality FX. The new Step Sequencer in Logic is my favorite available today. Then there is the Logic Drummer.

As I said - by this I mean you can only use the stuff that comes with the top version of the DAW (obviously you're free to use a lesser version like Live Standard, Bitwig 16-Track or Cubase Elements if that's enough for you)

No matter how clever these One daw threads are varied, the answer is Reason 11 Suite. Period.

Live (assuming it's Suite version). Logic is awesome too (if on a Mac) and it's the champion of value per money spent. But overall I choose Live.

I'm on Windows now, otherwise Logic would be the obvious choice.
Now, this poll doesn't say if we can use hardware or just the DAW 100%.
Anyway, for me I would use my DM12 and MODX with any DAW (realistically), so it would be between Cubase and Live (Bitwig comes third, then S1).
However, if I want to concentrate only on my two hardware synths/instruments, but using the DAW effects and mixing tools, then S1 would be my choice because of the easier workflow (compared to Cubase).
If 100% DAW, then it would be Live or Bitwig.
But my vote goes to Cubase as the best overall among these 4 that I have. It has the best balance between creativity and final production including great synths (like Retrologue and Padshop) and excellent beats/acoustic drums (GA SE).

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I like the new look, the old one was ok also. But anyway logic is not my main daw. Was in the past, 8 years or so only logic. Then I was spoiled by Studio One, and then Bitwig, and then multiple DAW's slippery slopes.

I've only used Cubase and Reaper enough to know them. Voted Cubase but I only use Reaper nowadays. The Reaper stock instrument plugins I've tried are very basic. Doesn't really matter though, free stuff like Vital, Pendulate and Zebralette are more my thing than stock vsti:s anyway

Definitely Logic for me, although Live is a very good all-in-one product, too.

Yeah, there is a lot that Logic does that Live doesn't.stevewlb wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 8:27 pm Started out with Ableton, but the shift to Logic was such a step up for me

Cubase Pro doesn't include the full HALion/Groove Agent,antic604 wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 7:45 pmAs I said - by this I mean you can only use the stuff that comes with the top version of the DAW (obviously you're free to use a lesser version like Live Standard, Bitwig 16-Track or Cubase Elements if that's enough for you)![]()
And none of the ones I mentioned have anything included (Basic or Pro) that I wouldn't find too limited and uninspiring.
So then, I wouldn't consider any DAW on your list to be able to fit the bill.

Yeah Bitwig‘s Synths and VST can by far not compete with Ableton.antic604 wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 1:32 pm This is a follow up to previous poll, but this time the additional constraint is you can't use 3rd party VSTs / AUs / AAXs / M4Ls / REs but only the 1st party native stuff that comes with top version of the DAW.
Let's see how the results will differ
EDIT: I voted Ableton Live here & Bitwig in previous one.
Not shure what to answer:
GoTo-DAW is Ableton. And it has the nicest and most streamlined workflow, supports Push and APC (which I have) and is pretty complete from sculping ideas, over arrainging the song, till mix and master it (from terms if Fx quality).
But I think FL Studio is even more capable, Fx are on par with Ableton and synths are even better (Syrus, Harmor). But I had to learn it more deeply and it‘s a PITA for me, because it‘s so inconsistent and aside
every GUI standard. When I start a song in FL Studio it has just THIS base sound. Beats are exploding, while Ableton is flat. Synth presets are full and ready to use, while Ableton’s sound like electronic and modular experiments without any power and mightyness.
At the end, because I think I can use it more as a tool, and workflow is kind if genious, I think I would go with Ableton.
