quick question, is anybody successfully using MPE in Sektor because here it's horribly broken and I'm just shocked it ever passed QA? Polyphonic pitch just does not work at all, so right away it's broken.

dont have a MPE capable keyboard but someone here at KVR said MPE in Sektor was broken. Never been fixed as far as i understand.

Since I bought it years ago for a way higher price than you can get it today, its broken, I complain about it all the time they simply ignore it!
I have given up and will never buy anything from them ever again… Just curious - are you on a Mac? Maybe it works on PC?

They told me last month they would look into it. Of course one never knows with these weird DJ tool oriented companies whether it's just some support guy and it's never addressed. It's a shame, because the sound of Sektor totally lends itself to MPE if they would fix it IMO.

Sektor need upgrade if want to be in the game.
With free Vital around every synth today is under heavy discussion is it worth the money.
Bougth it because couldn't resist the heavy discount,but never use it in a project,neither inspire me to make sound set for it.
Could be use ass pro synth,just with some many really good synth around need to be upgraded somehow to pay users attention.

So I haven’t installed it yet but there’s an update today for Sektor supposedly fixes MPE issues among other things! Hopefully, IMO the sound lends itself to MPE,

Here's the change log for the Sektor update:

Version 1.6.1

Added a visible menu for polarity to the expression envelopes. Was only accessible via right click
Menu before.
Added an MPE visual keyboard for when Sektor is in MPE Mode.
Added support for ASIO drivers on Windows in the standalone app.
Added support for bluetooth midi devices on Windows in the standalone app.
Improved point deleting behaviour in the Modulation envelopes.
Reduced CPU of the oscillators by ~50% when not modulating the wavetable position or pitch. With a reduction of ~40% when modulating.
Reduced the CPU use of the LFOs by ~50%
When reloading a project if a destination wasn’t enabled, enabling it didn’t work.
Fixed bluetooth midi not working in standalone on Mac OS 11
Fixed MPE Mode not working correctly.
Fixed the delay mix reseting to full mix in certain situations.
Fixed right click delete points in the expression envelopes deleting the wrong point.
Stability fixes.

I just installed the update and Sektor is still pretty CPU hungry. I've owned it for quite some time but hardly ever use it.

But it's capable of some nice sounds and is fun to program.

Agree,just check 1.6,not bad at all,if spend more time with it,probably some interesting stuff will be created,but have too many other synths, not sure will find time for this.
Most of vst i've got probably will never be used.
I f somebody offer me old vst for exchange i'm willing to give it.

I'm demoing Sektor as we speak. It's not bad considering it's going for $39. I'm using the dark blue skin - easy on the eyes and modern-looking. I was hoping by now they would've expanded their arpeggiator, but...

1. Nope. Still missing swing, velocity and gate length for each step, and random direction.

2. Although you can pan Osc A & B in the matrix, you can't do the same for the Sub or Sample Osc. That'll really give arpeggiated patches some much-needed movement.

3. Even though it installs the samples on the C drive, I'm really not complaining since, expanded, I think it comes to around 2gb or so? [Edit] I just found out I can move the samples folder and Sektor will prompt me for its location. If anyone's curious, the library is installed at C:\Initial Audio.

Sektor really does remind me of Serum, but since you can import samples, it places squarely in the Vaporizer2 camp which, truth be told, has lots more features.

Seriously though, it's seemingly solid now, I think I got it for $29 on a flash sale a year or two ago, so if I get a couple years out of it in decent shape then I'm good. U-He, UVI, Rhizomatic Plasmonic, and Arturia are where I look these days for instruments that have developers that update in a timely fashion.
